There's this saying. Maybe it's not a saying. But it gets said. It gets said that the system isn't broken, it's working exactly as it was intended. The idea being that the system was always designed to keep the working person down, to keep the marginalized in the margins, to make the rich richer, to make the Whites wealthier. The system was made by the rulers to keep the ruling class the ruling class. We're fucked in the system, that is to say. I read something recently about burning it all down. Or something like that. About the United States being fucked up from the beginning. It was built on colonization and genocide and slavery, after all. So let's do away with it all. There is no reforming the system. There is only creation. Creation of new systems. Or return? Return to the earth, somehow? I'm thinking of indigenous practices. What would life be if Europeans had not colonized as they did? Why did my family choose to leave Norway and Sweden and come here? Like, really? Was it really a necessity? I don't know exactly. Was it because they were already colonized and then became the colonizers? Things don't have to be the way they are, that is something I feel sure of.
