Respect me! What even is respect? I don't actually have any beef with what I think of as respect, which is basically just recognizing the life in others, basically. I was going to say, recognizing the humanity in others, but I think it goes beyond that, to having respect for animals and the planet, basically all living beings and dead ones, too. You know, treat others as you want to be treated, the golden rule. I think that's what respect is. Not so much this, respect your elders crap that still is a big thing in a lot of families. I would like to upend systems that currently exist, and that means that you shouldn't have any more respect for your elders than you would for anyone else, nor any less. And elders should have just as much respect for youth. It goes both ways and all ways, upside down, inside out. And people should not be expected to have more respect for people with more status. People with more status, or in other words, wealth, should have just as much respect for everyone else. I shouldn't have any more respect for the pope than I have for the pig or the peony. It's maybe a little different, I guess. I would take liberties with a peony that I wouldn't take with the pope or a pig.
