Beloved Hive Sisters,

@storygoddess · 2025-06-27 19:47 · Ladies of Hive
Thank you. About a month ago, I came in tears and plea. My family was in a bad place because of the fear of my sister’s health deteriorating further. We had no hope, so we had to, by all means, get the funds, and we did a fundraising for her surgery. In hopes and out of desperation, I reached out to @merit.ahama for help. I haven’t met her outside Hive. I am just a stranger whom she’s only known on Hive for a little over a year, and even though we had no close relationship, she immediately stood up for me. She promised to reach out to community admins she could reach out to. Then, she came back to tell me that the community of sisters on Hive gave me the go ahead to post in the community despite fears. ![sister.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/storygoddess/23zbTyt39auwQGPx2cDmFhxqr3gWtW5NhesyKu13zkgB8Qsv2QTgmWXuAvKGdaGSF8fAi.jpg) She mentioned the various ways in which people have taken advantage of the kindness of the good people of Hive, but she wished me luck. Then, amid fears, panic and tears, I wrote the post in the community and went offline to pray that I really get help. Then, I returned online to see that @wrestlingdesires promoted my fundraising post on Ecency, and I busted into tears… of calm. It felt like I just had some relief from the burden I had carried for a while. Then, the support gushed in from various angles from my beloved Hive family. I didn’t know much about cyber family, but here, I have one, and you made it seamless. It looked like you were expecting to show kindness on that particular day and beyond, because the goodwill messages, the HBD and Hive donations, the reblogs, the comments, and many more that I got showed me that I indeed have a community of supporters even though I am just a stranger living somewhere far away. I appreciate you. I have been waiting to get a picture of my sister from the hospital so I could share with you and appreciate your goodness. Your tokens, no matter how little contributed to the difference you are seeing in this picture. My sister can now live a good life free of a swollen cheek and destroyed jaws that could’ve caused a permanent damage to her life, thank you. My sister can now move, even though she’s still struggling to eat, and talk, but we are very hopeful now because the worst is over. The surgery took a total of nine hours, but the end is what we prayed fervently for. Dear sisters, thank you. I appreciate every form of support that you have given to my family because this is beyond me. You have wiped our tears when it seemed like it was the toughest for us, you have stood up for us and stood with us financially, and spiritually. Your kind words helped me navigate the tough phase so well, I wish I could put it into words. This is me sending out thanks to everyone that reblogged, upvoted, commented, donated, prayed, encouraged, and supported in every form possible, I do not take any of your support for granted. I wish I could hug you all to tell you how much I’m grateful, but please, accept this little form of appreciation from me. Thank you very much. I pray God meets you at every point of your needs, and that every help you rendered be multiplied by the Almighty. I pray He thanks you for us more than we ever can. I am grateful. My sister is grateful. My family is grateful. This is the only picture I have of her after the surgery.
