Midday Grocery and Doing Sister's Requests

Hello, everyone! Happy weekend! Finally got out of the shadows to stroll around here on Hive! I've been not myself recently and had a messy sleeping time. It's been two days of sleeping and waking up early so I guess I'm back to normal now even though I still experience low energy during the day. I'm also loving the cool weather at dawn. Lol.

Last month's grocery was a bit different because my sister asked me to inquire at the post office and purchase a bag charm from a fast food restaurant. I first went to the post office. Unfortunately, the post office employee explained that the U.S. customs had become more strict regarding products they allow. What a bummer. I guess the only way to have the products is for her to come home or have it bring in the luggage by someone travelling to U.S.

Also, there was this kid asking for some money in front of the post office. He kept on nagging while I was speaking to the staff which made me feel a bit irritated so I looked at the kid and told him to wait in a serious tone. Lol. True enough, the kid waited so I gave him some money and told him to study well.

It was already lunch time when I headed to find the bag charm my sister wanted. I had three fast food branches in mind to visit just to look for that bag accessory. Unfortunately, again, the bag charm was either not available or has been long sold out just like on the third branch I went to. The store's manager was also kind of mean. She looked irritated when the crew asked her about the bag charm. Ehhh? That's not the attitude their bee mascot is promoting. Ain't their brand supposed to be jolly? I hope this branch isn't owned by someone I know. Anyway, I just ordered a meal because I was already hungry. I only ordered 1 piece of the burger steak out of disappointment. Lmao.

After all the failed tasks, I proceeded to do my groceries. It was midday on a Friday and it was drizzling on my way to the mall. I was looking forward to a quite crowded grocery since it's a Friday but to my surprise, there were only few people around. Most people were probably still having their lunch. Ah, silence and peace!!!

As usual, I first paid the bills and went to the pharmacy store before heading to the grocery. I went straight to the fresh goods and bought my vegetables, fruits, and meats. It's sad that they already ran out of chicken breast fillet for that day. I have no choice but to get the regular.

And as you can see on the photo above, I also got grapes. Maybe I just missed eating grapes because I can't get rid staring at it on the display. I also got a dumpling wrapper. Oh, I'm excited to share my dumpling experiments here soon!

Here on this photo, I stopped on the side and took a rest for a few seconds while running through my list to check if I missed an item. It's tiring to push a heavy cart but still thankful because it means being blessed to be able to purchase all the foods and things I need.

And I'm finally done getting all the stuff I need. My cart is almost full. Now thay I have ticked all the items on my list, it only means one thing. Time to pay!

As I turned my cart, I saw the seafood signage from afar. It's quite funny because on the seafood station is chicken. Lol. Perhaps, anyone new to this grocery store would get confused. But also, no one actually reads the signages, I guess. People would rather let their eyes wander on the displays to find what they're looking for.

It's now time to pay at the cashier for real! As you can see here, there's nobody at the school supplies area on the right. I was able to pass through this area in peace!

There's also not much line at the cashier area so I was able to finish faster compared to my previous shopping.

I remember I've been grocery shopping here with my family since I was little—back when this mall was just a simple grocery store. Then expanding few years later becoming the first and biggest mall in the city for a long time. This mall was part of my childhood so I still choose to shop here despite having other malls nearby my home.

Going back, I got home right after paying at the cashier and immediately organized my groceries then ate some grapes for my snack.

July's grocery adventure was tiring and sad because I wasn't able to fulfill any of my sister's requests. I looked up online and the bag charms were being sold four times the original price. The audacity of these scalpers! Maybe that's why most participating branches here can't even have stocks.

Anyway, doing monthly grocery became an advantage for me because I didn't have to go out and shop for food when our province was hit by three typhoons and the roads were flooded for almost two weeks.

Thanks for reading! 💚
