Hola Hive Beer!
Beer and I have never been besties but beer cannot be to blame, in this case it is innocent. I was diagnosed with celiac in 2008 which was only a few years into the legal age of imbibing. Always a problem solver I took quickly to scotch and enjoy a neat glass of Balvenie, twenty one years aged. However, every now and again I come across a gluten free beer I haven't tried and this one was too good to keep to myself.
@ninaeatshere spotted this lovely bottle of Estrella Galicia and her own favorite for us to enjoy, and that we did! Estrella is from A Coruña, Galicia, España near the coast and has been soulfully crafted by the Rivera family since 1906.
I have tried many different types of gluten free beer but this one was truly one of the best, and how much fun that I could enjoy it in Guatemala! What most gluten free beers lack, this one more than carries. It had a depth of flavor that was smooth, enjoyable, and as close to a well balanced blonde ale as one could get.

Once cracked, I began to pour slowly into my cup and it left me with a really nice frothy layer that made sipping quite refreshing. Nina and I enjoyed our brews while soaking in the view from my new digs. Lake Atitlan at night is just the most beautiful place. The rain falling on the tin roof, reminding us to take it easy, to relax, and to invest in our present moment.
Nothing is more pleasurable in life than spending time with those who light your world on fire. Cracking a beer and having a heart to heart is an experience that I did not know I was in need of, but Nina was there to provide. Ever blessed with beautiful people in my life, I just want to say thank you!

La cerveza y yo nunca hemos sido mejores amigos, pero la cerveza no tiene la culpa, en este caso es inocente. Me diagnosticaron celiaquía en 2008, lo cual fue solo unos pocos años después de alcanzar la edad legal para beber. Siempre siendo una persona que resuelve problemas, me adapté rápidamente al whisky escocés y disfruto de un vaso puro de Balvenie, añejado veintiún años. Sin embargo, de vez en cuando me encuentro con una cerveza sin gluten que no he probado y esta era demasiado buena para guardármela.

He probado muchos tipos diferentes de cerveza sin gluten, pero esta realmente fue una de las mejores, ¡y qué divertido que pude disfrutarla en Guatemala! Lo que a la mayoría de las cervezas sin gluten les falta, esta lo tiene de sobra. Tenía una profundidad de sabor que era suave, disfrutable, y tan cercana a una ale rubia bien balanceada como se puede conseguir.
Una vez abierta, comencé a servir lentamente en mi vaso y me dejó con una capa espumosa realmente agradable que hizo que beber fuera muy refrescante. Nina y yo disfrutamos nuestras cervezas mientras nos empapábamos de la vista desde mi nuevo hogar. El Lago Atitlán por la noche es simplemente el lugar más hermoso. La lluvia cayendo sobre el techo de lámina, recordándonos que nos relajáramos, que descansáramos, y que invirtiéramos en nuestro momento presente.
Nada es más placentero en la vida que pasar tiempo con aquellos que prenden fuego a tu mundo. Abrir una cerveza y tener una conversación de corazón a corazón es una experiencia que no sabía que necesitaba, pero Nina estuvo ahí para proporcionarla. Siempre bendecido con gente hermosa en mi vida, ¡solo quiero decir gracias!
