A few years ago, I saw a movie that instantly became my favorite. A movie that featured one of the most recognizable and powerful voices in American music. As soon as the movie ended, I learned two of the songs from the soundtrack and added them to my repertoire.

The movie is called Burlesque, and its protagonist is Christina Aguilera, a singer I love, and many of her songs have shaped different stages of my career and that of many artists who have used her music to promote themselves through covers.

This story is similar to that of many artists who leave their families and lives behind to move to a big city with more connections and opportunities to make their musical dreams come true. This story is also very similar to my own, because at 21, I left my family behind and moved to the Cuban capital in search of more opportunities that would help me achieve my goal.
La película cuenta la historia de Ali (Christina Aguilera), una chica de pueblo con una gran voz, que anhelaba encontrar un lugar donde pudiera cumplir sus sueños y alcanzar sus metas. Dejando atrás su pasado, Ali decide mudarse a la ciudad de los sueños, Los Ángeles, donde por casualidad se topa con el club Burlesque, un majestuoso teatro en apuros que alberga una inspiradora revista musical.
