Hello to all the members of this community and lovers of crafts, especially recycling! Today I'm here to show you an order I made for my sister @maisugar , who asked me to make her a couple of bookmarks, since she's been craving to read physical books lately 😚 Since I like crafts and was curious to see what I could come up with, I accepted and in the end, I made more than expected.

To make the bookmarks, my sister gave me a piece of kraft paper, which she got at work, probably as a base for some products, from the store where she works. This type of paper is also often used for packaging, as it comes in different thicknesses. I love it because it's porous, allowing different materials to adhere well. The paper my sister brought was the perfect thickness for the bookmarks I had in mind, as it wasn't too thin, but not too flimsy either.

😺📚 KITTY 📚😺

I started by making a kitty bookmark, as it was one of her requests. For this, I thought of a cute and unusual design, and I came up with the idea of ​​making a kitty that could be positioned so that it looked like it was hanging from the top of the book. I drew it in pencil, using the color of the page to match the cat's fur, and adding a few spots with a marker. I outlined the drawing with a black marker, both thin and thick, and finally, I added some details with white paint.

After cutting it out, I really liked the result. You can use it like this, without folding it, so that it fits just in the middle of the pages.

But wearing it folded, I think it's more adorable. I really like the kitty's hind legs ✨

😈📚 GOOD OMENS 📚😇

Another one my sister wanted, by law, was one with a design based on one of her favorite series Good Omens, which is about angels and demons. I couldn't decide what to draw, until the idea of ​​drawing an angel's wings being captured by a snake came to me, as an analogy to the relationship between the protagonists, Aziraphale and Crowley.

For this one, after drawing the design, I first applied two coats of white paint, and once they dried, I proceeded to paint the details of the snake and feathers using wooden crayons. This time, I skipped the black marker and instead used the same wooden crayons for shading, as well as a gold marker for the feather edges.

When you fold it, you can see the head or tail of the snake. It was a pretty risky design, haha, but the result was to my liking and it looks pretty good, in my opinion ✨

🦋📚 BUTTERFLY 📚🦋

Noting that some small pieces remained while cutting the paper, I thought about making some small bookmarks. Ideal for paperbacks. The butterfly design was quite simple; I just drew the silhouette and added a few details using a black marker. I colored in the areas with markers and highlighted them with white paint. I kept this bookmark for myself, haha, but my sister liked it so much that she asked me to make one to give to a friend, so I did.

Like the others, it can be used unfolded, but if we do, it will give the impression that the butterfly has delicately landed on the edge of the book ✨

🐝📚 LITTLE BEE AND FLOWER 📚🌸

Using another piece of paper, I decided to draw a cute little bee flying toward a flower. After drawing it, I colored in some parts with white paint and, using markers and wooden crayons, colored the drawing, using the marker for the edges.

I love it because if you fold it, you can see the bee on one side and the flower on the other. It's quite simple and small, but cute ✨

🍭📚 CANDY TOTEM 📚🍪

Finally, I thought about making a candy bookmark because my sister loves them haha, so I came up with the idea of ​​drawing a candy, a lollipop, and a chocolate chip cookie, connected by some chocolate bars... like a kind of "sugary totem." Haha, I used the same technique as with the bee.

Unlike the others, I made this one to be used without folding it. But looking back, it could easily be folded into some of the chocolate bars. Although just like that, it looks cute and delicious ✨

Those were all the bookmarks I made, for now. I was so inspired that I spent the whole day just making them, haha, but it was so much fun, and the best part is that I still had some scrap paper left to make more. As you can see, this is a simple project, and if you're a book lover, you'll love having your own personalized bookmark. Up until then, I was using an old subway ticket and even shopping receipts, but no more! Now I have my cute butterfly bookmark, perfect for books large or small. ¡Hola a todos los integrantes de esta comunidad y amantes de las manualidades, sobre todo del reciclaje! El día de hoy vengo a mostrarles un encargo que hice para mi hermana @maisugar , quien me pidió que le hiciera un par de marca libros, ya que últimamente anda con la fiebre de leer libros físicos 😚 Como me gustan las manualidades y tenía curiosidad de ver qué podía llegar a hacer, acepté y al final, le hice más que los esperados.

Para hacer los marca libros, mi hermana me dio un pedazo de papel kraft, el cual obtuvo en su trabajo, seguramente como la base para algunos productos, de la tienda en donde trabaja. Éste tipo de papel lo suelen usar mucho también para empacar, ya que viene en diferentes grosores. A mí me encanta, ya que al ser poroso, permite una buena adherencia de diferentes materiales. El papel que trajo mi hermana era de un grosor perfecto para hacer los marca libros que tenía pensado, ya que no era tan delgado, pero tampoco tan débil.

😺📚 GATITO 📚😺

Comencé haciendo un marca libro de gatito, ya que fue una de sus peticiones. Para ello, pensé en un diseño lindo y curioso, ocurriéndoseme hacer un gatito que pudiera colocarse de modo que pareciera que el mismo, está pendiendo de la parte superior del libro. Hice el dibujo con lápiz, aprovechando el color de la hoja para que fuese el color de pelaje del gato y haciendo unas cuantas manchas con marcador. Delineé el dibujo con marcador negro, tanto fino como grueso y finalmente, hice unos detalles con pintura blanca.

Tras recortarlo, me gustó mucho el resultado. Se puede usar así, sin doblarlo, de modo que se coloque únicamente en el medio de las páginas.

😈📚 GOOD OMENS 📚😇

Otro que quería mi hermana, por ley, era uno con un diseño ambientado en una de sus series favoritas Good Omens, la cual, trata de unos ángeles y demonios. No me decidía sobre qué dibujar, hasta que me llegó a la mente la idea de dibujar unas alas de ángel siendo apresadas por una serpiente, como una analogía a la relación que tienen los protagonistas, Aziraphale y Crowley.

Para este, luego de dibujar el diseño, primero coloqué dos capas de pintura blanca y una vez que secaron, procedí a pintar los detalles de la serpiente y las plumas, utilizando crayones de madera. Esta vez, no usé el marcador negro y en su lugar, utilicé los mismos crayones de madera para sombrear, así como un marcador dorado, para el borde de las plumas.

Al doblarlo, se puede apreciar la cabeza o la cola de la serpiente. Fue un diseño bastante arriesgado jaja pero el resultado, fue de mi agrado y se ve bastante bien, a mi parecer ✨

🦋📚 MARIPOSA 📚🦋

Notando que, mientras cortaba el papel, quedaban algunos trocitos pequeños, pensé en hacer unos marca libros pequeños. Ideales para libros de bolsillo. El diseño de mariposa fue bastante sencillo, bastó con hacer la silueta y realizar algunos detalles a la hora de usar el marcador negro. Pinté las zonas con color con marcadores y para las luces, la pintura blanca. Este marca libro me lo quedé para mí jaja pero a mi hermana le gustó tanto, que me pidió que hiciera uno para regalárselo a una amiga, y eso hice.

Al igual que los otros, puede usarse sin doblar, pero si lo hacemos, dará la impresión de que la mariposa se ha posado delicadamente en el borde del libro ✨
