Bienvenidos! 🙋🏻♀️
Welcome! 🙋🏻♀️
First things first, don't criticize my arepas, okay? 😤 Hahaha, look, I'm no expert. This is actually only the third time in my life that I've made them! The first time turned out great, the second time was a complete disaster (I chose the wrong flour and they tasted rancid 🤣), and this time I have to say they didn't turn out as perfect as the first time, but at least they were tasty and pretty. Well, I should clarify a few things, haha. I was feeling really bad physically and mentally that day, so I wanted to cook something tasty that wasn't the usual, which is why I came up with these arepas, and well, I did everything by eye, hahaha, which is wrong, I know, but I was really feeling bad and just wanted to make something delicious for my breakfast, so I acted quickly, threw everything together, and went for it! Even so, I took photos of the process, in case I really liked the result, and since it wasn't bad, here I am sharing it with you!Ingredientes:
Self-rising wheat flour Baking powder Two eggs Liquid or powdered milk Sugar Salt Liquid vanilla Melted butter

I had also wanted to try out my new mixer for a while. Previously, I had made these arepas by hand, so I wasn't quite sure how to add the ingredients. I gradually added everything together: the flour, powdered milk, two drops of vanilla, sugar, a pinch of salt, two eggs, and melted butter. Finally, I added a splash of water and started mixing! I paused the mixer and added flour, repeating this process until I had a firm dough, which was supposed to be left to rest for at least half an hour or an hour, but as I wanted to have breakfast quickly, I didn't even wait 5 minutes, hahaha.

ENGLISH
My favorite part begins: flattening the dough and cutting the arepas! I know they're usually smaller, but I like the idea of making them big, I don't know why, ha ha ha. The dough was super soft, so it was easy to roll out and cut them all. I ended up with about 7 or 8 large arepas.

ENGLISH
Since I don't have an oven to cook them and then bake them, I did it in a pan over low heat with the lid on, so they puffed up and browned nicely. I really loved being able to satisfy this craving, although after eating them I craved some torrejas, which I made later that same day, ha ha ha. It's basically the same dough but fried, very delicious!!!.
