A Busy Friday Morning: Stories from Shopping at Trang's Fresh Market 🧑🏻‍🍳🙏

Hello, my lovely friends.

Today is a special morning, unlike any other. It's a morning when we have to get up early to prepare for a new day. It's a hectic yet positive feeling, and before heading out to do the important task of shopping for the kitchen, I tackle my kitchen duties early in the morning, cooking fragrant rice, washing the pile of dishes, and preparing my mom's favorite breakfast. Then I rush to prepare food for my little daughter before she leaves for school. Once everything is done, it's time for adventure. Today is a day when the store is rather short on supplies, as yesterday's customers came in quite large. This morning, I'm especially excited to go out and restock the fridge.

My husband and I didn't hesitate to drive our beloved car to Trang Fresh Market, located along the city's iconic railway road. Upon arriving at the market, the first thing I did was grab my phone and take a photo as a souvenir, because photos are the best way to capture memories.

After taking some photos, I headed to my usual Khanom Jeen shop. This is where I often buy Khanom Jeen noodles to make tam sua or use as a side dish for som tam (papaya salad) in case a customer orders it. I also buy a lot of other ingredients at this market.

There were so many people milling around, everyone happily shopping, that I wanted to capture the atmosphere again. Then I headed to the fresh produce section, specifically the seafood section, where there was so much fresh seafood I couldn't decide what to choose.

Today I was especially keen to buy squid. This was my first time buying seafood from this stall. Although the price was a bit higher than other places, I was very impressed because the vendor provided excellent service. As soon as I ordered the squid, the vendor cleaned and prepared it for me. I didn't have to worry about having to cook it myself at home.

After catching the squid, I went to the egg stall to buy some eggs for cooking. Besides the eggs, I also stopped to buy some fresh vegetables and some noodles, both yellow and wide. Each stall was close to each other, making shopping quick and easy.

I choose to buy ingredients a little bit at a time because I just opened the shop, so there aren't many customers yet. I hope to do my best.

After we finished shopping, my husband and I helped each other load all the things into the car. After that, we immediately headed back to the store. It took us less than an hour to shop. On the way back, I didn't forget to take pictures of the scenery along the way again. During that time, I saw a large brown cloud. I thought to myself that it would definitely rain soon because it had been raining very often lately.

And on the way, I remembered that I had just run out of toiletries, so I stopped at a convenience store and it didn't take long for me to finish.

When we arrived at the restaurant, my husband immediately made coffee to drink, while I didn't take long to finish my coffee. After that, we both quickly helped prepare the restaurant to welcome all the customers.
