A warm lunch from yesterday

Hello, dear friends.

This photo captures a happy moment yesterday (Monday, September 22, 2025) in Na Ta Luang District, Trang Province. It captures the atmosphere of our family's lunch, filled with smiles and laughter. The story begins around noon, when our stomachs were growling. We decided to order food from the Grab Food app. As soon as the Grab driver arrived, the fragrant aroma of Isaan food wafted into the house. This familiar smell whetted our appetites, and everyone was ready to devour the food before us.

We didn't want Mom to have to get up and go anywhere, so we helped each other arrange the food from the bags onto the plates neatly. Mom was sick and laying on the bed nearby. We were all happy to sit and see Mom up close like this every day. Once the plates were arranged, each plate was beautifully arranged on the dining table before we started eating.

I didn't miss the chance to take out my phone and take a photo as a memento, because it was a rare moment to see the whole family together like this.

We chose to order Isaan food that everyone in the house liked. Each person picked their own favorites, making this meal more diverse and interesting than we expected. We started with Som Tam, which we ordered in several styles. We ordered Som Tam Thai, a sweet and sour salad with chewy peanuts and dried shrimp, and Som Tam Poo Pla Ra, a spicy and delicious salad with fermented fish sauce. It was spiced with bird's eye chilies and the aroma of fermented fish sauce mixed with crispy papaya shreds. We also ordered Yum Ruam Mit, which came with tender boiled chicken. The flavor of the salad was rich and flavorful, not too spicy, but strong enough to stimulate our taste buds. And of course, we couldn't resist the grilled chicken, with crispy skin and tender meat, marinated until the spices had seeped into the meat. Dipping it in the delicious sauce made it even more delicious, almost impossible to stop.

In addition to the main dishes, there's also larb moo, which is mixed with roasted rice and fragrant ground chili. The flavors are sour, followed by spiciness and salt, making it not too rich. There's also tom zap moo kratuk, which has a sour and spicy broth and is enjoyable to chew on with tender pork bones. Or, there's a simple dish like fried rice, which is stir-fried with the aroma of the wok and spices. Everything seems to blend together incredibly well.

Yesterday's lunch wasn't just about eating a full meal, it was about spending time with loved ones. Seeing everyone's smiles as they ate delicious food was a simple joy that surprisingly filled my heart.

For today, I must say goodbye, my friends. See you again next time. Thank you for following and supporting me. Thank you very much.
