Stories from the Garden When Termites Invaded
Hello everyone!
Welcome back to another story from our garden. Today, I'd like to share a rather challenging experience from yesterday's mission.
After breakfast and taking care of my mother, I headed to the garden in my trusty tricycle. This mission was no easy feat, but a small battle to protect our beloved oil palm trees.
The last time I came to cut palm trees, I noticed that large termite mounds had formed around some of the palm trees. Shockingly, they had invaded the palm trees to the point where I was unable to harvest any of my produce. That's where today's important mission came in: to eradicate these invasive termites from our orchards.
I had my full equipment ready, including a hoe, a pickaxe, and a knife. When I arrived at the garden, I didn't hesitate to put on my gloves and get down to business. But before I started the hard work, I didn't forget to take some photos of the pre-battle atmosphere to share with you all.
This battle was not easy. The scorching sun and exhaustion from digging with a hoe made me sweat profusely. I had to stop periodically to take pictures and observe the termite colony underground. I found that inside the termite mound were not only termites, but also fungi and leaves that they used as food, as well as a huge number of larvae and most importantly, the termite queen, who was well protected in the center of the nest. Although I did not want to hurt them, when they chose to destroy our crops, I had to protect my garden.
I dug and dug again and again into several termite mounds, but the mission that day was still not accomplished. I spent time in the garden from noon until almost dusk. Exhaustion was overwhelming and I was almost exhausted, but I was determined to return today and complete this mission.
Before returning home, I picked up some ripe pineapples from the garden. I planned to make some cool pineapple juice when I got home to refresh myself. I hoped its sweet, juicy flavor would help compensate for the fatigue from all the hard work. The termite extermination mission wasn't over, but the stories from our garden continued. See you in the next story!
For today, I must say goodbye to you all. See you again soon. Thank you for following and supporting me. Thank you.
