It's hard to believe that it's almost 3 years since my niece surprised my husband with this little girl, Mika. She flew her all the way from Sioux Falls, South Dakota and hand delivered her to us here in western, New York. I thought this would be a nice post for #TBT as it holds a lot of emotional memories for us both.
I have been going through umpteen files on the windows 7 PC and saving the favorites to a USB stick. I knew it was only a matter of time before I had to replace it with a new computer. With so many outdated drivers, and the fact that it was over 15 years old, it was time.
This is Katie holding Mika in the pet store and asking me if I thought my husband would love her. Well, what do you think happened when she showed up on the back porch almost 3 years ago?
Yep, he sobbed like a baby. He had been so lost when our dog passed away and Katie new it was time to bring some life back into his heart.
Here are the two of them playing on the lawn.
She was a little spitfire right from the start and as stubborn as can be. It has taken a lot of patience raising a puppy at our ages, but I can't imagine our home without her now.
She was so tiny and fluffy and loved to be outside on the porch or pulling out the flowers in the gardens.
Once we started grooming her every month, most of her brown hair disappeared. I find that odd, but what do I know about dog hair, lol.
She still loves to sit on my lap or floor watching tv during the afternoons.
Her favorite pastime is dragging out every single play toy and having us toss them across the room.
This happens at least 3 - 4 times throughout the day. She keeps my husband busy as her constant playmate.
Here is a look at what the floor looks like after a session. The only thing we can't get her to do is pick them all up and put them back in her toy box.
At night the floor becomes a mixture of toys and chew bones scattered about. Having a young dog reminds me of what it was like raising a toddler, well even a teenager, right?
The new computer has arrived, and I finally finished clearing the hard drive of 15 years' worth of photos, documents, and info I saved on the old one.
I love the fact that the new one is so compact compared to the huge tower I had all these years, and it is quiet too.
I transferred a lot of the files from the hard drive backup I had and now I have my favorites on the new PC. I'm still trying to navigate windows 11 which is a lot different than the windows 7.
Now I can start all over again creating folders of new memories that I can share with all my Hive friends. At least I can do it faster now and without the computer crashing or freezing often. Whoohooo for the major update that was way overdue. See you all soon and have a wonderful weekend.
Until next time, this is Sunscape Sun. Scape. Ing Your Day
