Nasty weather for the trick or treaters and for my poor Bradford Pear Tree. Just before the kids started going out in the wicked wind and rain, one whole side of my tree came down.

We had been having gusts of 40-50 MPH. winds all afternoon. We didn't even know it had happened until my neighbor called us a 6:00 p.m. to let us know.

The main branch broke right from the center trunk of the tree, yet it is still attached. We've put a call in to a friend that does tree removal, and he will come soon to take it down and trim what else is needed.

It may not look like much of a branch, but it is the whole southeast side of the tree. I wonder what it is going to look like once they get it cleaned up.

I feel bad for the tree. I just hope that it is not too bad and they can save the rest as it is my favorite. I love the beautiful blossoms in early spring.

It's funny, all these years I've never noticed the little pears on the tree until seeing them today. One of the nice things about the Bradford Pear is the brilliant burgundy-wine color of the leaves every fall.

This morning the rain has finally stopped, and the sun is just now peaking out of the clouds. I just may have to harvest the rest of my carrots today before the rain starts again.

Have a great weekend everyone. November has arrived, hopefully this month will be a good one to be #thankful for.
