As anarchists and voluntaryists, we often have our own thoughts and ways of expressing them. I know what it’s like to have someone get nasty at me. What crosses the line for me, however, is when it gets into sexual harassment.
I tried to give someone my opinion today on something he said. I’ve looked at this guy as someone who is very influential in the anarchist movement. I’ve watched some of his videos and read some of his posts. Sometimes I agree with him… sometimes I don’t.
Today I watched a video of his. I decided to call him out on it. I didn’t expect this reply from an intellectual, father, free thinker, accuser of others, and fellow anarchist.
I’m by no means a feminist. Don’t get me wrong. But in this day and age… with what we are fighting against… why would you seek to use such crude sexual language to someone criticizing you? This guy is breaking my opinion of who anarchists and voluntarists are.
I don’t know what my point of writing all this is, but I guess I just want an apology. I want to be in a world where we can trade ideas… even get passionate about them. But not sexually harass each other when our words fail us.
