Surfers on Steem, let's pave our way.

I've been thinking about this for a while, and thanks to another amazing conversation with @sircork today's morning (well you unconsciously inspired me to do this, Cork :-)), the day has come to share a new idea with you.

There are a lot of surfers and Ocean lovers in general in this network, and I want to set up a project that unites all of us, enabling us to share our common passion, talk about what we love, creating synergy potential, grow the community of surfing on Steem and also advertize Steem in other surf communities outside the blockchain.

It's supposed to be a win-win for all participants.

I know that the upcoming community layer Hivemind will be the ideal basis to create such a sub-community on the blockchain, but I don't want to wait for it :-)

The vision has been growing for longer in my head, the project itself - on an operational level - is still in its infancy, but I'm glad I have already been able to acquire some like-minded people who are going to be on board.

Sand & Sea - surfing has many faces

It's not just about riding waves

Surfing is much more than just controling a - however shaped and designed type of - surfboard.

To many surfers, the whole world of surfing is (almost) a religion.

I don't want to go that far, but to me spending time at the beach, being in the water, meeting like-minded people onshore and in the lineup is definitely a lifestyle.

Now I'd love to bring all the like-minded surfer souls in this network together, leveraging the Steem blockchain as an extended arm of our real life surf environment.

I have multiple ideas in my mind on how to set up the project, but I want this to be our project not just mine.
