Mother Khala in her Power
Hi there, did I still make it and am in the contest period?
Hach, I took a break for almost 3 weeks now and didn't do any Splinterlands fanart because I wanted to get better and improve my skills in an experimental way with various anime fanarts. I don't want to deliver poor quality or record it here on my artblog. I want to present something weird but nice to you. So I think I got it today, let me know what you think.
Since I didn't have a super creative idea, I first got some inspiration, which took some time. Unfortunately, I'm not a fast-drawer, so I can always deliver a finished drawing every day. Especially not when I'm making little animations with background music and voiceovers. That takes time.
But thank God I came up with another idea while experimenting and I was highly motivated to realize it and upload it now to share it with you immediately.
My Splinterlands fanart today is dedicated to Mother Khala.
I thought she looked kind of sweet and since I really like drawing old faces because the wrinkles are so challenging, I wanted to draw Mother Khala in my own way.
But I degenerated in the process and it became more than I wanted at the beginning, so you can expect a 1 minute animation, a silent GIF creation and the usual digital drawing or fanart.
I'm really looking forward to your feedback. What do you think of my idea?

Mutter Khala in ihrer Kraft
Hallöchen, habe ich es noch geschafft und bin im Zeitraum des Contest?
Hach, ich habe knapp 3 Wochen nun notgedrungen pausiert und mal kein Splinterlands Fanart gemacht, weil ich besser werden wollte und mit diversen Anime Fanarts meine Skills auf experimentelle Art und Weise verbessern. Ich möchte ungern schlechte Qualität abliefern bzw. hier auf meinem Artblog festhalten.
Da ich keine super kreative Idee hatte, holte ich mir erstmal eine Inspiration, was Zeit in Anspruch nahm. Leider bin ich kein Fast-Drawer, sodass ich täglich immer eine fertige Zeichnung abliefern kann. Schon gar nicht, wenn ich noch kleine Animationen, mit musikalischer Untermalung und Voiceovers mache. Das dauert.
Aber Gott sei Dank kam mir durch das rum experimentieren wieder eine Idee und ich war hochmotiviert diese umzusetzen und jetzt noch hochzuladen, um sie sofort mit euch zu teilen.
Meine Splinterlands Fanart ist heute der werten Mother Khala gewidmet.
Ich fand sie irgendwie sweet vom Look und da ich total gerne alte Gesichter zeichne, da die Falten so herausfordernd sind, wollte ich Mother Khala mal auf meine Art zeichnen.
Doch ich bin ausgeartet im Prozess und es wurde mehr als ich zu Beginn wollte, daher erwartet dich gleich auch noch eine 1 minütige Animation, davon eine stumme GIF Kreation und die übliche digitale Zeichnung bzw. Fanart.
Ich bin mega auf dein Feedback gespannt. Was sagst du zu meiner Idee?
So, nun ein paar Einblicke in den Entstehungsprozess. Auf geht's.
Slowly and as clean as possible I started to sketch out my old Mother Khala in my own old woman style.
I wanted the touch of an old bohamian Hippie. Hahaha. Hope it worked out a bit.
Played with mouth and eye expressions and made little changes for the animation.
Simple coloring. No blending.
Dirty shadows and shades only.
Her magic wand is a must have for my fanart. Also I tried the effect from the original.
Now I recognized... Damn, she needs arm and hand... She has to hold the magic wand somehow. So lets draw that too.

I decided to want another zoomed out perspective so I zoomed smaller my drawing and continued to draw half of her body too.
