A New Year

A desk calendar seems like such a good idea. The blank page with the new year and first month of the year is all shiny and happy smiling up to be filled with all the possibilities. the pens are ready - different colors for different events and life will be so organized. for sure! Not. Before you know it, mail is covering the calendar, sticky notes reminding of the next idea to be set into motion. A coffee mug ring appears like out of nowhere. Not so neet looking anymore, my friend. Then, the kids need a red pen, and a blue one too. The green must have rolled behind the desk or something, never to be seen again. The calendar still seems like a good idea. An appointment for next month. Oh, there is a stack of books on it and no place to move it to. How to turn the page? Okay, we enter the date later. No problem. Forgetting is not an option. Or is it? June is still pristine, a white page to be filled. but that darn coffee spilled and now all the month have some weird contours, shapes, decoration on them. And it is wet. Was there milk in the coffee? Know what happens when milk just sits outside? No? Well, it is best to buy lots of incense to protect the sensitive noses of those coming by. Better yet, just throw the whole thing in the worm bin. Better luck next year.
