Buenos días, buenas tardes o buenas noches, damas y caballeros. ¿Cómo están? ¿Cómo se encuentran? Espero que muy bien. En mi caso particular, como habrán podido notar, he estado desaparecido por casi un mes y es que les venía diciendo que quizás tenía un problema de salud; esperaba que no fuera grave pero terminó resultando en mi estómago siendo invadido por un parásito. Bueno, además tengo otro problema relacionado con mi estómago por lo que ando tomando pastillas y polvos mágicos para tratar ese tema, además de hacer dieta; actualmente creo que me encuentro más o menos bien para retomar el hábito de la escritura, hacer reseñas y volver a las andadas. Ahora quizás te preguntes qué hice durante todo este tiempo que estuve libre tratándome el estómago, pues, llegué a Gran Maestro en Honor of Kings (nunca antes había sido tan pro en un videojuego), dentro de ese juego están haciendo actualmente una colaboración muy curiosa, que tiene que ver con Detective Conan; escuchar el soundtrack de la serie una y otra vez hizo que me antojara de verlo, he de admitirlo. Sé que tiene más de 1000 capítulos pero hay guías en Internet para ver nada más los capítulos realmente importantes, por lo que me puse manos a la obra. En más o menos 20 días conseguí ver 130 capítulos y una película. Tengo entendido que el anime también fue lanzado en Netflix pero con un mega resumen, habiendo solo 9 capítulos, seleccionando los casos importantes según ellos.

In my particular case, as you may have noticed, I have been absent for almost a month. I had been telling you that I perhaps had a health problem; I was hoping it wouldn't be serious, but it ended up resulting in my stomach being invaded by a parasite. Well, I also have another problem related to my stomach, for which I'm taking pills and magic powders to deal with that issue, on top of being on a diet. Currently, I believe I am more or less well enough to resume the habit of writing, doing reviews, and getting back to my old ways.
Now, you might be wondering what I did all this time while I was off treating my stomach. Well, I reached Grand Master in Honour of Kings (I had never been that much of a pro at a video game before). Within that game, they are currently running a very curious collaboration that has to do with Detective Conan; hearing the series' soundtrack over and over again made me fancy watching it, I must admit.
I know it has over 1000 episodes, but there are guides on the internet to watch only the truly important episodes, so I got down to it. In more or less 20 days, I managed to watch 130 episodes and one film. I understand that the anime was also released on Netflix but with a mega summary, containing only 9 episodes, selecting the important cases according to them.

Creo recordar que de pequeño, Detective Conan fue uno de mis animes favoritos, hasta posando en algunas fotos de chico como el personaje, y es que el misterio me atrae bastante y más las series que tienen que ver con resoluciones de casos, adivinar quién es el asesino y así. Particularmente no me acordaba de nada, literalmente es como si me la estuviera viendo todo por primera vez, supongo que en aquel tiempo me lo vi en Español Latino, que tiene un curioso doblaje donde le cambian el nombre a todos los personajes y además tenía censura. Por supuesto esta vez, decidí verla en su idioma original para más disfrute. En Crunchyroll pueden encontrar el anime pero hasta el 123 y supongo que es una remasterización porque se ve excelente luego tendrías que buscar en otras páginas y la calidad sería más acorde a la época y con suerte solo lo conseguirías con subtítulos en inglés, es lo que tiene ver un anime tan viejo supongo. ¿Mi objetivo es alcanzar los últimos capítulos? No lo sé, solo seguiré viendo hasta que quizás me canse, con One Piece alcancé hasta el capítulo 300 y algo, puede que acá ocurra lo mismo, no soy muy de ver series largas y menos si tienen tanto relleno, lo bueno en el caso de Conan, es que puedes saltarte los capítulos con facilidad porque cada capítulo es un caso nuevo, por lo que no habrán confusiones en la historia. Lo que sí noté es que se dieron unas libertades creativas locas que luego tuvieron que arreglar, debe ser que no le tenían tanta fé al proyecto.
I seem to remember that as a kid, Detective Conan was one of my favourite animes—I even posed as the character in some childhood photos. The thing is, I'm quite drawn to mystery, and even more so to series that involve solving cases, guessing who the murderer is, and so on.
I particularly didn't remember anything about it; it's literally as if I'm watching it all for the first time. I suppose back then I watched it in Latin American Spanish, which has a curious dub where they change all the characters' names, and it also had censorship. Of course, this time I decided to watch it in its original language for greater enjoyment.
You can find the anime on Crunchyroll, but only up to episode 123, and I assume it's a remaster because it looks excellent. After that, you'd have to look on other sites, and the quality would be more in line with the period it was made, and with any luck, you'd only find it with English subtitles. Such is the nature of watching such an old anime, I suppose.
Is my goal to catch up to the latest episodes? I don't know; I'll just keep watching until perhaps I get tired. With One Piece, I got to around chapter 300-something; the same might happen here. I'm not really one for very long series, especially if they have so much filler. The good thing in Conan's case is that you can easily skip episodes because each one is a new case, so there won't be any confusion with the overall story.
What I did notice is that they took some mad creative liberties early on that they later had to fix; it must be that they didn't have much faith in the project to begin with.

¿Qué más te puedo decir de Detective Conan? Son muchos misterios por acá y por allá, siendo la trama principal la droga que encogió a Shinichi Kudo en un niño, aunque no parece que vaya a haber un fin a este misterio muy próximo, tenemos 1000 capítulos y nada más según el autor ha transcurrido un año. Aunque investigando, al parecer Detective Conan es un fenómeno en el continente asiático, amasando una enorme cantidad de fans, por lo que el autor no quiere darle fin, tanto es el impacto que el Detective Conan es uno de los pocos animes que recibe una película anual, que por cierto, tienen una calidad tremenda, he visto una nada más pero me encantó de principio a fin, sé que cuenta con más de 25, así que hay mucho que ver, mucho lore y mucha historia. De mis personajes favoritos sin dudas tengo a Heiji en mi top 1, y luego a Shinichi Kudo, de tercero podría ser fácilmente Kaito Kid. Los capítulos que no me gustan tanto es donde sale la banda de los detectives jóvenes pero que se puede esperar de niños, tienen actitudes de niños, no hay nada que hacer. Si quieren ver Detective Conan, fácilmente les puedo pasar la página que te guía para solamente ver los capítulos importantes, así no te pierdes con el relleno o casos irrelevantes. Así que sin más nada que contarles, me despido por el día de hoy, es un placer poder estar otra vez por acá y compartir mis puntos de vista en esta comunidad.
What more can I tell you about Detective Conan? There are mysteries everywhere you look, with the main plot being the drug that shrank Shinichi Kudo into a child—though it doesn't seem like this mystery will be concluding any time soon. We have over 1000 chapters, and yet, according to the author, only about a year has passed in the story.
Upon looking into it, it seems Detective Conan is a phenomenon across Asia, amassing an enormous number of fans, which is why the author doesn't want to bring it to an end. Its impact is so great that it's one of the few anime to receive an annual film, which, by the way, are of tremendous quality. I've only seen one so far, but I loved it from start to finish. I know there are over 25 of them, so there's a lot to watch, full of lore and history.
Without a doubt, my favourite character is Heiji at number one, followed by Shinichi Kudo. The third spot could easily go to Kaito Kid. The episodes I don't like as much are the ones featuring the Junior Detective League, but what can you expect from children? They act like children; there's nothing to be done about it.
