To Be Hero X, My Impressions of Episodes 9 Through 13. —eng/esp

Buenos días, buenas tardes o buenas noches, damas y caballeros. ¿Cómo están? ¿Cómo se encuentran el día de hoy? Espero que muy bien. Yo, particularmente, me encuentro espectacular este día, con todas las ganas del mundo, y es que posiblemente hoy coma pizza. Una buena razón para estar entusiasmado y feliz este día. Además, vamos a celebrar que mi primo es ingeniero; sabrá Dios qué le vamos a hacer. Hoy les vengo con una actualización de *To Be Hero X*, ya que tenía un buen tiempo sin escribir acerca del tema. La razón es bastante simple: dejé que se me acumularan los capítulos para poder verlos todos de golpe y disfrutarlos más. Por lo tanto, tenía 5 capítulos pendientes, y una vez vistos todos, les traigo mis nuevas teorías o pensamientos acerca del tema. Se supone que hoy también sale un nuevo capítulo, pero no puedo esperar a contarles sobre todo lo nuevo que está aconteciendo, especialmente cuando vemos, por primera vez, la aparición de X, quien resulta ser un don nadie, pero a la vez alguien fuerte sin igual, lo cual es un poco contradictorio si tenemos en cuenta las reglas de este extraño mundo de héroes. Poco a poco vamos entendiendo más, o eso creo yo. Habría que trazar una línea del tiempo para comprender un poco mejor; quizás ya haya aficionados que la hayan creado, pero, sinceramente, no he buscado. Prefiero usar todo mi cerebro para tratar de entender. Lo único raro que he notado, y que llama bastante la atención, es que en estos cinco capítulos no hemos tenido animación en 3D; todo ha sido pura animación en 2D. Más si tenemos en cuenta que lo que hacía característico a *To Be Hero X* era mezclar los dos estilos. Pero creo que hay una razón detrás de todo esto, y procederé a explicarla más adelante. Así que, sin más dilación, hablemos de mis impresiones del capítulo 9 al 13 de *To Be Hero X*.

**Good morning, good afternoon, or good evening, ladies and gentlemen.** How are you? How are you feeling today? I hope you’re doing well. Personally, I’m feeling absolutely spectacular today, full of energy—and possibly because I’ll be having pizza later, which is a brilliant reason to be excited and happy. Plus, we’re celebrating my cousin becoming an engineer—God only knows what we’ll do to mark the occasion! Today, I’m bringing you an update on *To Be Hero X*, as it’s been quite a while since I last wrote about it. The reason is simple: I let the episodes pile up so I could binge-watch them all at once for maximum enjoyment. That left me with five episodes to catch up on, and now that I’ve seen them all, I’m here to share my new theories and thoughts. A new episode is supposedly coming out today, but I simply couldn’t wait to tell you about everything that’s been happening—especially since we’ve finally seen the debut of **X**, who turns out to be a nobody yet also an unrivalled powerhouse. That’s a bit contradictory, considering the rules of this strange hero world. Bit by bit, we’re understanding more—or at least, I think we are. We might need to map out a timeline to make better sense of it all. There are probably already fan-made ones out there, but honestly, I haven’t looked. I’d rather use my own brain to piece things together. One odd thing I’ve noticed—and it’s quite striking—is that in these five episodes, there hasn’t been any **3D animation**; it’s all been pure **2D**. This is especially surprising since what made *To Be Hero X* stand out was its mix of both styles. But I reckon there’s a reason behind this, and I’ll explain it later. So, without further ado, let’s dive into my thoughts on episodes **9 to 13** of *To Be Hero X*.

Durante estos últimos capítulos hemos visto principalmente la historia de Lucky Cyan, Queen y ahora una nueva heroína que aún desconozco su nombre pero su nombre real es Loli. Todos estos sucesos parecen estar ambientados en el pasado donde aún X no era el héroe número uno (aunque ya cuando la historia de Loli transcurre, sí lo es). Inclusive se desconocen sus poderes. Lo más llamativo es que nos enteramos que no tiene Índice de Confiabilidad ninguno, aún así es capaz de vencer a héroes que están en el top 10 del Torneo de Héroes. Ahora acá es cuando entra mi teoría: ya sabiendo nosotros de antemano que el poder de X es manipular la realidad, el hecho de que durante estos capítulos que ocurren en el pasado no hayamos visto animación en 3D se debe a que las personas aún no tienen conciencia de cuál es el poder de X. Siendo que en el futuro, cuando ya es más conocido, nosotros podemos ver cuando usa sus poderes con el cambio de la animación. Ahora que lo pienso, suena un poco loco el asunto pero creo que es una posibilidad bastante factible. Si en algún capítulo del pasado lo vemos chasquear sus dedos y cambiar la animación, habré tenido razón y ustedes lo habrán leído aquí primero, señores. De estos tres personajes nuevos, me gustó bastante Lucky Cyan. Creo que tiene una historia muy interesante, además me gusta que hayan tomado la suerte y lo hayan convertido en un poder. La única duda que me queda es qué habrá sido de Luo, ya que la historia de Queen coincide en la misma época que Lucky Cyan pero no conseguimos ver más nada de él, y eso que parecía tener poderes interesantes (un héroe que atrae desgracias). También pudimos ver los orígenes del miedo, aunque acá es un poco diferente a la actualidad: vemos a la gente convertida en una especie de zombies o transformada en monstruos, lo cual es bastante raro.

Over these recent episodes, we've primarily followed the stories of Lucky Cyan, Queen, and now a new heroine whose name I don't yet know (though her real name is Loli). All these events appear to be set in the past when X wasn't yet the top hero (though by Loli's story he already is). What's particularly striking is that we learn he has no Reliability Index whatsoever, yet he can defeat heroes ranked in the tournament's top 10. This is where my theory comes in: since we already know X's power is reality manipulation, the absence of 3D animation in these past-set episodes likely stems from people not yet being aware of X's abilities. In the future timeline where he's more established, we see the animation shift when he uses his powers. Now that I think about it, this sounds rather mad - but I believe it's a perfectly plausible possibility. If in any past-set episode we see him snap his fingers and change the animation style, I'll have been proven right - and you'll have read it here first, ladies and gentlemen. Of these three new characters, I particularly liked Lucky Cyan. She's got a fascinating backstory, and I love how they've taken the concept of luck and turned it into a proper superpower. My only lingering question is what became of Luo - Queen's story overlaps with Lucky Cyan's timeline, yet we see nothing more of him, despite his intriguing misfortune-attracting abilities. We also got to see the origins of Fear, though it's somewhat different from the present-day version - people transformed into zombie-like creatures or proper monsters, which is rather peculiar.

Por otra parte, también confirmamos que nada es lo que parece. La vida de los héroes no es tan idílica y está llena de conflictos entre ellos, llegando hasta los golpes sin importarles romper las reglas que prohíben la agresión entre compañeros. Vemos que el poder también los corrompe; el objetivo de ser el número 1 es algo que afecta su actuar, culpando a inocentes y pagando la frustración de no tener ese puesto con los demás. Efectivamente, los héroes no son totalmente buenos. Inclusive vemos algunos que se vuelven malos debido a ciertas motivaciones, por lo que podríamos decir que sí existen los villanos en este universo, algo que no se había mostrado hasta ahora. Antes se nos había presentado a los presidentes de las agencias heroicas como los antagonistas, haciendo hasta lo inaudito para manipular a las multitudes, pero ahora vemos a los propios héroes siguiendo ese mismo camino. Inclusive se nos sugiere que posiblemente uno de los presidentes de las agencias podría estar interesado en la fuerza del miedo y cómo usarla a su favor. Aunque no todo es tan negativo: vemos algunos directivos que podrían considerarse "buenos", aunque siguen siendo manipulativos con los héroes que representan, ya que evidentemente buscan su propio beneficio. Hasta este momento pensaba que cada héroe tendría un pasado traumático donde perdían a alguien especial, pero vemos que con Lucky Cyan y Queen no ocurrió. Ahora veremos qué sucede con Loli y su historia, que al parecer será una especie de héroe cyborg con una narrativa que planea redefinir los estándares de belleza o, más bien, luchar contra ellos. ¿Acaso una chica bonita no puede ser fuerte? Lo descubriremos. Sin nada más que añadir por ahora, esperaré a que la trama avance para traerles otra actualización. Me despido por hoy. ¡Hasta la próxima!

**Furthermore**, we've confirmed that nothing is quite as it seems. A hero's life isn't nearly as idyllic as one might think - it's rife with internal conflicts, to the point where they'll even come to blows, disregarding the rules prohibiting aggression between comrades. We see how power corrupts them too; the obsession with becoming number one warps their judgment, leading them to blame innocents and take out their frustration on others when they fail to claim the top spot. Indeed, these heroes aren't entirely virtuous. We've even witnessed some turning outright villainous due to their motivations, confirming that proper villains do exist in this universe - something we hadn't properly seen until now. Previously, the heads of hero agencies were portrayed as the antagonists, going to outrageous lengths to manipulate the masses. But now we see the heroes themselves following this same troubling path. What's more, there are hints that one agency president might be particularly interested in harnessing the power of fear for their own ends. Though it's not all doom and gloom - some executives could arguably be considered "decent", albeit still manipulative with the heroes they represent, as they're clearly pursuing their own agendas. Until now, I'd assumed every hero would have some traumatic backstory involving losing a loved one, yet neither Lucky Cyan nor Queen fit this mould. Now we'll see how Loli's story unfolds - apparently she'll be some sort of cyborg hero, with a narrative that seems set to challenge beauty standards or perhaps actively fight against them. Can't an attractive girl be powerful too? We shall see. With nothing more to add for now, I'll wait for the plot to develop further before bringing you another update.
