El evento deportivo fue en el gimnasio cubierto del polideportivo José Antonio Anzoátegui, en Puerto La Cruz, Edo, Anzoátegui, lo primero que noté fue que el lugar está en buenas condiciones, eso me agradó.
Llegamos una hora antes de la pautada, a fin de ocupar posiciones para una buena visibilidad de la cancha y lo logramos.

Mi hijo participó en dos disciplinas: kata y kumite, y aunque no obtuvo ninguna medalla, nos sentimos orgullosos de su desempeño. El sólo hecho de estar allí ya es una victoria. Él gana experiencia y la posibilidad de superarse.
La práctica hace al maestro y es en cada encuentro, donde él puede retarse y aprender en el proceso.

Durante la tarde, el calor era intenso en el gimnasio, como si no hubiera aire acondicionado. No sé si no fue suficiente para el lugar o si dejó de funcionar, lo cierto es que entre el ruido ensordecedor que había y la alta temperatura, me sentí aturdida la mayor parte del tiempo.
Intentaba no prestarle atención a lo difícil que era para mí estar allí, que de paso, era lo de menos, porque debió ser más rudo para todos esos atletas que estaban compitiendo y más, considerando que gran parte de ellos vienen de un clima más fresco.
En las gradas, tuve de vecinos grupos familiares agradables, pero mi personaje favorito fue "Princesa", que siempre estuvo atenta a la competencia y sin quejarse (y eso que vino desde Caracas).

Nos fuimos cerca de las 10 de la noche y el campeonato aún no había terminado.
