Mi familia y yo nos embarcamos en una nueva aventura, un viaje a la ciudad de Puerto La Cruz, para acompañar a mi hijo al campeonato nacional de karate-do.
Me encanta cada vez que salimos de la rutina y hacemos cosas diferentes, en especial, cuando viajamos, porque supone vivir experiencias nuevas que guardamos en nuestra memoria.
También tenemos más oportunidades de compartir en familia tiempo de calidad.
Teníamos planeado salir al mediodía, después de que mi hija saliera de clases y yo de la oficina, por lo que intenté adelantar al máximo mis tareas pendientes.
Tal como acordamos, mi esposo pasó por mí un poco después de las 12 del mediodía y entonces emprendimos nuestro viaje.
My family and I embarked on a new adventure, a trip to the city of Puerto La Cruz, to accompany my son to the national karate-do championship.
I love it when we break out of our routine and do different things, especially when we travel, because it means having new experiences that we will remember forever.
It also gives us more opportunities to spend quality time together as a family.
We had planned to leave at noon, after my daughter got out of school and I left the office, so I tried to get as much of my pending tasks done as possible.
As agreed, my husband picked me up a little after 12 noon, and then we set off on our journey.

La carretera estuvo despejada, fue un recorrido agradable y el sol fue clemente.
En dos horas llegamos a nuestro destino, el Hotel "Paradise", donde sería el pesaje de los atletas.
El sitio estaba súper congestionado con todos esos jóvenes deportistas que esperaban su turno para el pesaje oficial.
Me impresionó ver a muchos jóvenes nerviosos ante la posibilidad de exceder su peso de competencia. Muchos saltaron su almuerzo para evitar unos gramos de más.
Habíamos sido citados a las 2 PM., sin embargo, no fue hasta las 6 PM. que mi hijo salió de allí.

The road was clear, it was a pleasant ride and the sun was kind.
In two hours we arrived at our destination, the "Paradise" Hotel, where the weigh-in was to take place.
The place was very crowded with all those young athletes waiting their turn for the official weigh-in.
I was impressed to see many young people nervous about the possibility of exceeding their competition weight. Many skipped their lunch to avoid a few extra grams.
We had been scheduled for 2pm, however, it was not until 6pm that my son left.
It was long hours of waiting, because we had only had breakfast and as we arrived straight from the trip to the hotel around the appointed time to take the weight, we thought it would be something quick. How wrong we were.

Cuando salimos de allí casi no teníamos fuerzas y sólo queríamos comer, pero primero debíamos buscar la llave del apartamento que rentamos por los 3 días que estaríamos en PLC.
Gracias a Dios fue un trámite rápido, el gestor que nos atendió fue muy amable y agradable. Además, el lugar llenó nuestras expectativas, es espacioso, birn ubicado y tiene todoblo necesario para una estadía cómoda.
Y ahora sí, finalmente fuimos a almorzar-cenar, porque ya eran las 7 PM.
Elegimos comer pizza, a un lugar en Lechería que nos gusta mucho y yo no sé si fue por el hambre que yo tenía, pero me pareció la mejor pizza que había comido en ese restaurante.
When we left there we had almost no strength left and we just wanted to eat, but first we had to get the key to the flat we rented for the 3 days we would be in PLC.
Thank God it was a quick procedure, the manager who took care of us was very kind and nice. Besides, the place met our expectations, it is spacious, well located and has everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
And now we finally went for lunch-dinner, because it was already 7 PM.
We chose to eat pizza, at a place in Lechería that we like a lot and I don't know if it was because I was so hungry, but I thought it was the best pizza I had ever eaten in that restaurant.

Y así con nuestra "barriguita llena y el corazón contento", regresamos al apartamento a descansar.
Estábamos agotados físicamente, pero felices. Había sido un largo día, más nis sentíamos satisfechos por todo lo que hicimos, sin duda fue muy productivo.
Nos quedan días de emociones fuertes y suspenso, con la certeza de que nuestro hijo, así como cada atleta que competirá en los próximos días, darán lo mejor de sí y todos viviremos una experiencia memorable.
Ya el hecho de estar en esta competencia es un gran logro y un orgullo, así que independientemente de los resultados, todos son ganadores.
Para mi esposo y para mí, lo más importante es que nuestro hijo esté bien, que disfrute lo hace y que de lo mejor de sí y así se lo hacemos saber.
No se trata de ganar o perder, sino de superarse a sí mismo cada vez y que sea feliz.
And so with our "full bellies and happy hearts", we returned to the flat to rest.
We were physically exhausted, but happy. It had been a long day, but we felt satisfied with everything we had done, it had certainly been very productive.
We have days of strong emotions and suspense ahead of us, with the certainty that our son, as well as every athlete who will compete in the next few days, will give their best and we will all live a memorable experience.
Already being in this competition is a great achievement and a source of pride, so regardless of the results, everyone is a winner.
For my husband and I, the most important thing is that our son is doing well, that he enjoys what he is doing and that he gives his best and we let him know that.
It's not about winning or losing, it's about doing better every time and being happy.
