Hello Everyone.
Lets talk about a up and coming project Crypto Assault.
CryptoAssault is a strategy MMO that runs on the Ethereum blockchain. According to the white paper. The world is persistent and claiming territory by yourself or with friends will result in earning daily ETH for as long as your control that territory.
I think it is also important to note that the units are also ERC-721 tokens which also leads to a item/unit economy.
The game is a hybrid on-chain/off-chain. The units are purchased on-chain but the game actions are all off-chain. So players will be able to move, attack and play the game without having to pay and wait for each action.
Claiming territory is the name of this game.
Players begin by deploying their units from the outer edge. A single unit can fit on 1 grid square. A unit will own all the grid squares around them in a radius, dependent on rarity. Rare units have a larger radius of influence so it is not only advantageous to upgrade units for better attack and defense.. but to control more of the map.
You will earn ETH for controlling territory based on the picture above where the closer to the center you control the bigger the bonus is for controlling that area.
Another thing to note about territory is that there is a satellite event where a large amount of ETH will regularly crash into the map. The person that owns the territory will claim that reward. The chances of the satellite crashing in any given area is show above. So as you can see the center of the map is going to be where the major action is. But even the outskirts will have a chance to get satellites.
Units and Upgrading
There are quite a few different units in Crypto Assault. So far what from what I see there are Tanks , Trucks, Mechs , Jet, and Helis. Of course there is some rock paper scissors action going on here where units are strong and weak vs certain types of units. between that... upgrades, terrain, age, buildings and probably other factors there is a lot of strategy coming in this game.
