I was busy all day today, but as I was sitting, I remembered that I used to write a diary, which I recently found again among my lost treasures. Indeed, it is a treasure for me because it holds so many memories of bygone days. In fact, I started writing a diary when I was in fifth grade.
When we moved from our village to a new city, which is not a city but a town, I had lost this diary. I didn't know where it had gone from my hands, but I kept missing it.
I don't remember the exact date, but I do remember that a couple of months ago, my mother found this diary somewhere while looking for things, and my feeling of joy cannot be captured in words. Because inside this diary, which I named( Yaadgar Lamhaat) Memorable Moments, many moments were captured in a chain of words.
If the date is to be believed, I started writing this diary on 17th November 2012, when I was a fifth-grade student. During this period, I mostly wrote my travelogues, and this was at a time when I myself did not even know that travelogues were a thing and that many famous writers are travel writers.
I have no idea where or why I got this diary, but I can speculate that someone may have given it to me as a gift and I then wrote it down in the form of a travelogue.
It is also quite surprising that at that time, I used to have stickers of Disney Princesses, which I used to buy specially, and then I put those stickers on my diary. These travelogues were just school tours that mostly covered Lahore or Islamabad. After returning from the tours, I used to write down all these moments in words and write them in this diary.
At first, I didn't have a camera with which I could take pictures, but as I went up to seventh grade, I was allowed to take my mama's mobile phone with me on trips from home. Thanks to that mobile phone of my mother, I used to take some pictures, which I would print out and then paste in my diary.
These pictures were taken on September 11, 2015. We were on a trip to Islamabad that day. I had this particular picture taken while sitting in the famous mosque of Islamabad, Faisal Mosque, but I don't remember who took the picture.
These pictures are also from the same day from the same tour. I have written complete details of the occasions in my diary but my expression is really so bad. I laughed on seeing my photo ; why is my upper button super tight? 😂
While searching through the diary, I also found that my sister has noted down recipe to make potato lays. She also didn't know when she wrote, but It came out as a memory. Interestingly, I found 50 rupees from this diary that I kept in my pocket, but I should keep it again in my diary it will also become a memory.
The condition of this diary is not very good today, but even today, it brings back memories very quickly. As soon as I turned the pages of the diary, I felt as if I had gone back to my past. I also remember that day when I completed my first writeup of this diary, and I was narrating my first tour details to my mother. This diary really moved me. I just want to go back to my childhood time when I was least aware of people and least aware of the world. That time was so precious.
See you another time with another precious memory 🫠
