I can't stop talking about Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle. This is because I grew up watching Cardcaptor Sakura and XXXHolic. I've also seen many other CLAMP series and I admit I'm a huge fan of these guys, not only for their artistic style but also for their stories, and it's precisely TRC I want to share some of my impressions about. To be honest, I was very excited to learn that a story would be coming out featuring one of my many favorite characters, Sakura and Syaoran. This was one of the main reasons why I gave this series a chance in the first place. And I liked quite a few aspects of it.

First and foremost, what I liked most about TRC was that it maintained the same aspects and personalities of my favorite characters, but at the same time with small details that made them different from those I once knew. I was also pleased to see that the series is mostly about interdimensional travel in order to collect Sakura's memories that vanished in space and time in the form of feathers. This reminded me a lot of the style of Cardcaptor Sakura and gave me some nostalgia seeing that it would be very similar in that aspect. However, I was totally wrong, since the series has a different plot full more of drama and action than tender or innocent moments between children.

The series introduces us to a number of well-known characters, such as Sakura's father in Card Captors, better known as Fujitaka Kinomoto, and we can also see Touya, Yukito, and Tomoyo, as well as other characters from the CLAMP universe such as Chii, Yuko, and many more. I should highlight that the basis of the series revolves around characters inspired by Sakura Card Captor, since at one point we can also see Kero and the Magician Clow. In fact, Sakura in this universe is his daughter, and that is why she has these mysterious powers that allow her to travel through time and other dimensions. The plot is quite good overall; I really liked it.

But when it was at its peak, they decided to cancel it because it stopped being a series that was supposedly made for children and became a story for adults. And this was obvious at first glance. It's also understandable why the story initially seemed a bit childish, with a few filler chapters that gave the series a nice touch, but when it returned to the true story, it was clear that the plot would take a deeper, darker turn. This was because in a few chapters, they offered reflections on moments, showing the past of some of the characters in which they explained unexpected and tragic situations, to the point of making you reflect on your own life.

Esto porque en unos cuantos capÃtulos lanzaban reflexiones de momentos, mostrando el pasado de alguno de los personajes en los que explicaban situaciones inesperadas y trágicas, a tal punto de hacerte reflexionar a ti mismo sobre tu vida.***

My favorite part of the series is the Tokyo Revelations OVA, and to be honest, I wish CLAMP would have pulled together a few pieces and given their fans a well-deserved closure. And although I read the manga because I needed to know how the story would end, there were some parts where I found a few gaps in the story that made it difficult to understand the ending and what really happened. The most complex part is the appearance and what they wanted to explain to the Sakura and Syaoran clones, as well as their originals. That part moves very quickly in the manga, but if they had continued it in the anime, this part would surely have been better explained. In the end, these are series that are left up in the air, and as a fan, you always hold onto hope that they'll resume it at some point.

Y aunque me leà el manga porque necesitaba saber cómo terminarÃa la historia, hubo algunas partes en las que encontré unos cuantos huecos en la misma que se me hizo enredado entender el final y lo que realmente pasaba en sÃ. La parte más compleja es la aparición y lo que quisieron darle como explicasión a los Clones de Sakura y Syaoran, asà como a sus originales. Esa parte avanza muy rápido en el manga pero si la hubieran continuado en el animé de seguro esta parte serÃa mejor contada. Al final son series que quedan en el aire y uno como fan siempre guarda la esperanza de que la retomen en algún momento.***
