Black dress update

Good Monday to all our creative community!!! I hope this week has been productive for you and that you are doing well!

I already told you that my friend lost a lot of weight and gave me her dresses. The second dress is black - very beautiful.

What's the problem with this? First of all, it's very short for me since my friend is much shorter than me. And secondly, there was a plastic emblem sewn on the back of the back, which twisted due to washing in a washing machine. It looked terrible (I forgot to take a photo). I was able to remove it with difficulty but there were holes left.

To make the dress longer, I needed fabric, but I didn’t have anything suitable in my supplies. We spent a long time choosing something suitable at the fabric store. The saleswoman helped me since I have little experience in this. In the end we chose this.

To cover the holes in the back, I decided to make a diamond shaped fabric ornament.

At first I thought of sewing it on by hand with thread and a needle, but then I decided to sew it on a sewing machine. It was difficult!!!!

It was very inconvenient to arrange the fabric so that it was sewn evenly and not warped. I didn’t do a great job, but for me at the entry level it turned out quite well. I forgot to say that the black fabric of the dress is stretch. I thought that sewing on a long frill would not be so difficult. Well, yes, sometimes I am very naive! :)))) I decided to be an obedient girl and prepare everything first - sewing by hand.

First, I had to make a hem at the bottom and then gather the top part with thread to make the frill look fuller.

This turned out to be the easiest part of the job. I will not describe my torment to sew this beautifully on a sewing machine. But after several unsuccessful attempts, I was still able to do it.

Overall the dress looks good, doesn't it? I want to wear this with red long beads that I have to buy.

I was once again convinced that what seems easy is not always so. But the main thing is not to give up!
