So today I was just recounting over the last visit I made to my home town, the experience and the adventure.
So I visited my home town, Abia State Nigeria and it was all fun.
But the very much fun that can't leave my memory is the farm visit and the cassava processing experience.
Basically, my people are known for farming especially the production of cassava, maize and melon.
So when I got home, my mum had an unprocessed cassava which was already grounded waiting to be fried, I decided to give it a trial after over 10 years of doing such.
The below is myself manually frying the cassava on the fire.
Our cassava is very rich in carbohydrates, it was cultivated with 0% external fertilizer, I would say we produce the best Garri so far.
It is produced with natural manure from the land, we don't add artificial fertilizers to our farm lands, if anyone does that, the farm produce will all die off.
This is because each of our lands takes 7 years before it gets cultivated, for this reason, the land produces more than enough manure over this 7 years, so it doesn't need an artificial fertilizers anymore.
After my cassava frying adventure, I also visited some of our farm lands to see how the growing crops are doing.
You can see from my adventure that the farm produce which are maize, cassava and melon are all greenish and beautiful, some of them has started producing fruits (that's the maize)
This particular farm land is located in-between Abia State and Akwaibom, so we share boundary with the Akwaibom guys , it's a massive farm land with large sections.
This particular location of farm land is large enough to contain an airport, so big that one can't cover the entire farm land with legs, you must use a bike or a car.
That day I had to go very early by 6am so I can be able to come back before sunset. The Nigerian sun is another enemy of my skin, so I wouldn't want to let that meet me in the farm because there are no shades anywhere and I didn't go with umbrella, I went with a bike.
It was a beautiful sight seeing for me, for a long time since I had been in Lagos Nigeria, I haven't visited and explored like I did this time around.
Basically my people and Nigeria at large are blessed with natural resources, I can attest from this farm produce, farmers don't spend money on fertilizers and manure, but the land produces natural manures that fertilizers the farm produce.
I am proud to say that the produce from these farms are the healthiest, they are void of any form of chemical production, processing or preservation, just natural.
