Hello everyone, Tamai here, I've been in this community for a while now, and I thought lemme make my indigenous art which is calligraphy using graffiti-style letters to draw out alien art hive. This is the first community I'm doing this for, i honesty hope its recognized as i put my heart and effort into this one, because i was really short of equipments to make it really beautiful, but i hope you like it.
I want to also say, I'm happy i found this community ☺
Here is a detailed process of how it went
🎨 CREATIVE PROCESS
started with a black ballpoint pen, to draw the letters - A L I E N A R T H I V E, giving space after each word, this took time because i had to position the words well, to avoid mistakes as i am using a pen that can't be erased, if i make mistakes, some pictures to walk you through
Now, i added a shadow to the letters to add a little realistic look to the letters, this took time because the ballpoint pen was quite small for the shading, if it was a marker now, or bigger pen it would have been easier, anyways I'm not here to rant about me, just check out the pics below
After the shading, i had to get a little more creative, so i added a look where by the letters are looking like scraped metals, but I'm not sure i was able to show this effect well, I'm still learning so, on my next art work similar to this, I'll do better definitely, check it out
Now, i added something again with an orange ballpoint pen, i outlined the words to give it feeling, a playful one though, with a green ballpoint pen added strokes to the word ALIEN, with a purple ballpoint pen added same kind of strokes to the word ART, and finally with a blue ballpoint pen added same strokes to the word HIVE, below
Okay, so far its looking 👌, now it still looks simple, so i decided to add another effect or effects, because i added a kind of shadow to show its like a block, 3d effect, then i proceeded to adding little tiny dots with the black pen around all words
Finally added the dripping effect, using the same black pen, along with using my normal handwriting to write the word COMMUNITY, i did this to show originality, and design too. Pics below
