"I wouldn't mind going vegan as long as I will be eating food from Anahaw."
Those were the words of my girlfriend, Jen, after taking her first bite.

In the later part of November, Jen and I decided to travel to Negros Oriental. We have been planning way before that once this pandemic ends, or at least the border control is no longer strict, we should go to Dumaguete. It is one of the affordable place to travel and enjoy every moment of it.

Rizal Boulevard, Dumaguete City
I think it was around October that it was announced that the requirements when traveling Negros Oriental has been loosened up especially for the fully vaccinated individual. Because of this, we put this plan into reality.
To make the most of our travel, we did not limit our visit to only Dumaguete. We visited the neighboring Municipalities of Dumaguete like Valencia and Dauin. We even reached further north of Dumaguete which is Bais City and Pamplona. More of these travels will be posted on my future blogs.

A food trip to Anahaw was part of this itinerary. This is because of @asasiklause. The thing is, when he left Talisay City, Cebu to work in Dauin, he wanted us to visit Dauin and Anahaw. Of course, we too want to go there and try the food of Anahaw.
So What is Anahaw? Where is Anahaw? Why Anahaw?
Anahaw is a yoga cafe and a vegetarian slash vegan cafe in Dauin, Negros Oriental.
They opened last February of 2021. They serve very delicious vegan food. Yes, no meat on their menu.
But you've got to try EAT(pun intended). You will forget your love of meat.
On top of that (well because it is also one of the cafes), is their yoga studio. I may not be a yogi but I can say the place is perfect for yoga. Anahaw has a very peaceful environment for yoga. They offer regular yoga sessions and open mat sessions for members.

If you're in Dauin or neighboring municipalities, you may want to book your yoga class at https://anahawdauin.com/booking or you can drop a direct message on their
Instagram.
Anahaw is located in La Independencia St., Poblacion District I, Dauin, Negros Oriental. Dauin is a 30-minute ride from Dumaguete City.
Why Anahaw?
I forgot to ask Sophia about this one but good thing @asasiklause knows too, since he worked their before.
Sophia has had an Anahaw plant before. While thinking about the name, they wanted something easy for people to remember and very Filipino-friendly. Thus, Anahaw.
Trivia Time! Did you know that Anahaw is the national leaf of the Philippines? Now you know.
But really, why Anahaw?
If you're looking for a place that is perfect for your physical, mental, and emotional health, Anahaw is the perfect place to be. They prepare delicious and healthy food and they provide a peaceful and friendly environment.
Even with our short experience in Anahaw, I can feel that it's the perfect place for your health and wellness.
If you happen to visit Dumaguete City, don't forget to include Anahaw in your itinerary.
Photos were also posted on my Facebook page Tan-awa Bai and Instagram.
I would like to thank Sophia and Tom, John, and Brandon for the warm welcome. I would also like to thank @asasiklause for introducing Anahaw to us.
