With our experiences in Cancun and Playa Del Carmen, we thought that Puerto Morelos would be completely overrun by tourism, scams, and pushy vendors. Why did we think that? Well, Puerto Morelos is located halfway between those two cities.

When we arrived in the small town, it immediately felt like home. It still had the charms of small-town Mexico but it also had relatively-low prices, beautiful beaches, and its own unique characteristics.

Within the first day, we both thought "Yeah, I'd live here!"
