We visited the Mexican state of Veracruz for the first time. Specifically, the city of Heroica Veracruz. We had many people telling us about the dangers of this state - that we should be especially careful when traveling to and around there.

What we showed up to in Veracruz was nothing like what we expected. Albeit, we've traveled enough to know not to have too many expectations... Reality is always different.

After spending some time in Heroica Veracruz, it feels like something bad happened here. We don't know what it is but there's something going on - more than meets the eye!
