This weekend I was able to enjoy a well-deserved rest, although as you well know, there are always things to do at home. Between small tasks, repairs, my birds, and the never-ending to-do list, I managed to disconnect a little from the routine.
The weather was a bit strange, sometimes cloudy and other times with bright sunshine that seemed to want to stay. But that's the weather here on the island: unpredictable, capricious, but always charming. It doesn't matter if it rains or if the sun shines brightly, the beauty of the landscape remains intact.
After doing some chores at home, my husband and I decided to go out with the idea of eating something and spending some time doing something different. I loved that idea because, in addition to enjoying ourselves together, I would get a break from cooking, which is always appreciated. Since our son was going out with his friends, we didn't have to worry about preparing dinner or coordinating schedules. He just asked us to stop by Zoom to pick up a package he was waiting for.
So we set off on our journey, enjoying the ride and taking in the scenery, which, as always, was beautiful. No matter what the weather is like, the island offers excellent views. The mountains, the trees swaying in the breeze... everything combines to create a relaxing atmosphere.**

Este fin de semana pude disfrutar de un merecido descanso, aunque como bien saben, en casa siempre hay cosas que hacer. Entre pequeñas tareas, arreglos, mis aves y pendientes que nunca faltan, logré desconectarse un poco de la rutina.
El clima era un poco extraño, en ocasiones nublado y en otras con un sol radiante que parecía querer quedarse. Pero así es el clima acá en la Isla, impredecible, caprichoso, pero siempre encantador. No importa si llueve o si el sol brilla con fuerza, la belleza del paisaje permanece intacta.
Después de hacer algunos deberes en casa, mi esposo y yo decidimos salir con la idea de comer algo y pasar un rato haciendo algo diferente. Esa idea me encantó, porque además de disfrutar juntos, descansaría de la cocina, lo cual siempre se agradece. Como nuestro hijo iba a salir con sus amigos, no teníamos que preocuparnos por preparar cena ni coordinar horarios. Solo nos pidió que pasáramos por Zoom a retirarle una encomienda que estaba esperando.
Así que comenzamos nuestro recorrido, disfrutando del trayecto y apreciando los paisajes que, como siempre, eran hermosos. Da igual cómo esté el clima, la Isla te regala vistas excelentes. Las montañas, árboles moviéndose con la brisa… todo se combina para crear una atmósfera relajante.*

**Once inside the shopping center, which, incidentally, is one of the best air-conditioned places on the island, we walked calmly, without rushing, letting ourselves be carried away by the atmosphere. We ended up at Pollo Arturo, which, I must admit, was one of the places with the shortest lines. In high season, there are always lots of people everywhere, and it's hard to find a nice spot. So we were lucky.**
*Ya dentro del centro comercial, que por cierto es uno de los lugares mejor climatizados de la Isla, caminamos con calma, sin apuros, dejándonos llevar por el ambiente. Fuimos a dar con Pollo Arturo, que les confieso que era uno de los lugares que menos cola tenía. En temporada alta siempre hay muchas personas por todas partes, y encontrar un rincón agradable cuesta. Así que fue una suerte.*

**We placed our order and it was ready in no time. My husband ordered a three-piece chicken combo with fries and a Pepsi. I ordered chicken nuggets with fries and a cold Pepsi. I must admit that everything was delicious. The crispy chicken, golden fries, and refreshing drink made for a perfect meal. Moments like these can be found all over the island, but here at Sambil, they have a special charm.**
*Hicimos nuestro pedido y enseguida estuvo listo. Mi esposo pidió un combo de tres piezas de pollo con papas y un refresco de Pepsi. Yo, por mi parte, pedí unas nuggets de pollo con papas y también una Pepsi bien fría. Les confieso que todo estaba súper delicioso. El pollo crujiente, las papas doradas y la bebida refrescante hicieron que la comida fuera perfecta. Momentos como estos se pueden encontrar en toda la Isla, pero acá en Sambil tienen un encanto especial.*

**We saved the most delicious treat for last: a delicious ice cream cone. Mine was chocolate, creamy and with an intense flavor that I loved. My husband ordered a rum raisin, which was also spectacular. I don't know what they put in that ice cream, but its flavor and creaminess are unique. They are also very generous with their servings and always ask if you want to add anything. But for me, the ice cream needs nothing more than its original flavor to be perfect.
We continued walking through the mall, enjoying our ice cream, talking, and laughing.
And so, between stories and cones, the afternoon flew by. Before we knew it, it was time to go home.**
*Para el final dejamos lo más delicioso; una rica barquilla. La mía fue de chocolate, cremosa y con un sabor intenso que me encantó. Mi esposo pidió una de ron pasas, que también estaba espectacular. No sé qué le ponen a ese helado, pero su sabor y cremosidad son únicos. Además, son muy generosos al servir y siempre preguntan si quieres agregar algo. Pero para mí, el helado no necesita más que su sabor original para ser perfecto.
Continuamos caminando por el centro comercial, disfrutando del helado, conversando y riendo.
Así, entre cuentos y barquillas, se nos fue la tarde. Cuando nos dimos cuenta, ya era hora de regresar a casa.*
