My mind is running a bit slower than usual, which means it is moving along at no more than the pace of an old, sick, differently-abled snail. I think it is the painkillers, although not that strong, I haven't taken any for a long time, so I am not used to even mild sedatives. Because as the description stated, I think slow enough already.

While scrolling news with utmost boredom, I came across a story that in my slowed state, I thought I would just double check with people from the US, because it seems more like a trolling story, with images created by AI. Having said that, it also seems valid, given the current state of the US government and America in general.

# 'Murica!?!
Apparently, there will be a UFC event on the south lawn at the Whitehouse, with a temporary venue set up to seat 5000. Sure, while I am not a fight fan, it would be a pretty incredible event to attend just to say you were there - but really? Is this a thing? It seems to ludicrous to be real, but ludicrity is what politics thrives on these days and if anything speaks to Trump supporters, it would be a cage match on the Whitehouse lawn.
> It seems like a new low for American politics.
And that is saying something these days. But this definitely demonstrates the "Bread and Circuses" approach to governance today. It is the military parade of the present, where many people just want to be entertained, paying little attention to what actually matters to even themselves. So many struggling to make ends meet, but are impressed by the circus.
> Is this a real event?
*Looks like it.*
And if it goes ahead it will be interesting to see how many hardcore Trump supporters can afford the tickets, because I suspect they aren't going to be cheap to purchase. And I bet they won't even come with a free pizza at the newly paved Rose Garden café.

> It looks like you'd have to pick up your own food when your table buzzer rings.
I jest about Trump supporters, but I have to assume that there must be a fair few intelligent people amongst them. And that makes me wonder what they think about all of this and whether the presidency so far is meeting their expectations for making America "great" again. Perhaps before voting, they should have first asked Trump what a Great America looks like, because so far, it looks *pretty tacky* and self-serving. Not America self-serving, Trump self-serving.

> Maybe Trump is drawing architectural inspiration from Kazakhstan - a dictatorship.
I feel like we have entered into a period of society where nothing need be connected to reality or advancement for the future and instead it is all a kind of bad play of society. A bit like a movie that was meant to be serious, but the writing and acting is so poor, that it has become a comedic trainwreck. But, it is impossible to look away, even if you want to, because the screen surrounds all of us, all of the time. The main characters in the movie are caricatures of the people we would normally distance ourselves from and ridicule for their ineptitude and buffoonery, but they are cast into leading roles and given the power to make decisions for the masses.
> I suspect the movie ends with a bang.
At least when that final flash arrives, the toothpicks holding our eyelids open will burn, and we will no longer be subjected to further punishment of what humanity has become.
I need a lot more sedatives.
