The New Bedford Harbor Walk
New Bedford has two Hurricane barrier walls built in the 60s to protect some of the city, well the parts of the city that have bene worst hit by Hurricanes before then I presume, and on top of them the city in 2015 built a walking path on top of the Harbor section of hurricane barrier wall and its a nice spot for walking, well both the harbor walk and the other walkway they built on the hurricane barrier wall called the cover walk built in 2017 are nice spots to walk, but for early morning walks I prefer the harbor walk, which is what I will share photos of today
The New Bedford Harbor Walk sits atop the New Bedford Hurricane Barrier on East Rodney French Boulevard. The hurricane barrier is said to be the longest in the world, it was built in the 1960s
The Harbor Walk begins next to the East Rodney French Boulevard boat ramp, stretching about three-quarters of a mile to its northern end at Gifford Street. Here, the harbor walk extends along the inside of the hurricane barrier past Palmers Island. At night, the walkway is lined with more than 160 light fixtures, so this is a nice spot for a stroll in the evening, or as I do in the early morning

As you can see the lights are handy before sunrise when it is pretty dark
they were still on in this next shot when it was a bit lighter, I think they turn them off about half an hour or maybe an hour after the sun rises
