Wednesday Walk a moody morning on the Mattapoisett rail trail

This post if for Wednesday walk challenge Any questions about the challenge read the guide at the Bottom of the post ;)

Sorry Last week things go on top of me and I didn't manage to visit all the posts, this week should be a better week I had a annual Drs appointment last week and the good news is he was very happy with my weight and actually told me to slow down a bit and try and stay at the weight I am not to loose anymore so that was nice to hear, the rets of the news after a couple of scans wasn't so good, but trying to ignore that and wait for a 6 month follow up and see what the scans show then , so staying positive and keeping on keeping on

Today I will share a walk I took the other day on the Mattapoisett Rail trail

The trail, which utilizes the former Old Colony Rail Road right-of-way, is mostly paved and flat, making it ideal for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages and abilities, from families to active adults. Beyond the paved section at Mattapoisett Neck Road, a footpath leads to lovely views of the Mattapoisett River from a scenic bridge. The Mattapoisett Rail Trail seamlessly connects to the Phoenix Bike Trail in Fairhaven, creating over six miles of flat, easy paths to explore. Both trails are also part of the larger South Coast Bikeway system, which is or is planned to be a 50-mile continuous system of bike paths, multi-use paths, and bike lanes connecting existing routes in Rhode Island to Cape Cod

I didn't walk the full 6 miles of the trails here, but probably did about half, was pacing the time to get to the supermarket when it opens at 6AM, I like getting there early when there is hardly anyone there.

This is the spot I mentioned a while back that I have had bad luck with batteries dying on me when I visit this spot

this time all the batteries on my camera, remote, car and light painting torches worked fine

I got there at about 4:20 an hour and twenty minutes before the sunrise so it was dark, so gave me a chance to play around with doing some light painting, was quite happy with how this one came out

Now before I head out each morning i check 2 or 3 weather apps to see the conditions and check out the clouds to decide where to go and I thought that there was a good chance for no fog and a nice sunrise that morning so I decided to go to the trail

Now either the weather apps were way off or i read them wrong but it was foggy, mist and dull for the most part than morning but still a nice walk.

Here's a shot near the start of the trail, it was rather dull and I decided to improve the sky in photoshop and ended up adding the rainbow, something i rarely do I like leaving a scene as i see it, but this one time I thought why not

This next shot shows how foggy and moody it was that morning

I popped off the walkway for this next shot

And to finish off a shot under the walkway, I used one of the 5 torches I take with me when light painting to light up the underside of the walkway

WHich makes me think at some stage I should do a post showing my light painting kit

Wednesday Walk is a challenge started by me, the idea is to get out for a short walk and get some shots of what you can see within a short distance of your home office or wherever you start. And this is my entry for this week, but first, let me explain the challenge.

This is my post for the Wednesday Walk challenge hosted by myself, let me first explain the guidelines

Try and get out once a week for a short walk, can be from your office, home or anywhere really and walk for a few blocks or a few minutes looking for things to get shots of.

Your walk does not have to be on a Wednesday I just ask if possible to share your walk photos on a Wednesday.

Try and get a few shots not just one

Add a bit of a write up about where you walked

Just one Wednesday Walk tagged post a week

You can look for anything in general or decide on one subject you want to get shots off.

Make a point of looking around and up and see what you can find to get shots of that otherwise you may miss

Do a post with the shots you get on a Wednesday and tag it with #wednesdaywalk, also if you happen to join, please leave a link to your post in a comment on this post and I will try and visit them all, especially if its not one of the first 5 tags or I may miss seeing it .

Following me and re-Hiving the post so more see it would be appreciated but isn't a rule just a suggestion.

I am not strict on these rules and hence why they are called guidelines and not rules

I will try and visit, and upvote all who take part in the Wednesday Walk.

I hope a few of you may find this an interesting challenge and decide to join in.

unless stated otherwise all photos used in my posts are taken and owned by myself, if you wish to use any of my images please contact me.
