Land has been on my list of the things I wish to own in this life. Whenever I hear people talk about owning land, it becomes appealing to me, and I wish I could own one. I know I shall own a land before I leave the surface of this earth. My thought of owning land is not primarily to build on it but to use it primarily for agricultural purposes. I love agriculture, and the issue of land has been a stumbling block to me venturing into it in real time. I wish I could have had one in my youth so I could start planting and harvesting at an early stage of my life.
Agriculture, to the best of my knowledge, is not a thing for the elderly but for young people who are full of strength and vigour. With this, it makes the work exciting and faster compared to those who are stricken in age with limitations to certain things they can achieve on the farm.
Land is an asset and those who have money can venture into it. It has a tendency to appreciate instead of depreciate. Investing in land is one of the latest and profitable ventures people can invest in and make more than a hundred per cent turnover. Many people who had invested in land many years ago are reaping massively from it. Getting land in remote areas for a small amount of money and selling it after a few years is an investment that one should think about.
Although this will require a huge amount of money to venture into it, if one can achieve a plot, then one can begin from there. However, this is not a get-rich-quick scheme because it might take decades or more for a land to appreciate to a considerable value. Therefore, it’s a long-term investment module.
Beyond using my land for agriculture, I would use my land for lease. What this means is that I will rent it out for people to use either for agriculture or for other enterprises, hence collecting yearly rent. It’s another means of making genuine money from landed property. Many people are reaping the fruit of landed property from many generations ago. Land is one of the things that owners don’t run on lost otherwise in cases of natural disaster. But in a real sense, it is an investment that can span many generations. Many people are enjoying the lands that were owned by their great-grandparents. This is the power of land ownership.
Therefore, people should consider owning land even if they do not need it now, as they might need it in the future. This is why I chose land as my ultimate purchase.
