Brick (2025) -- it was interesting in its own way... xD

A few weeks ago, I watched a movie that was randomly recommended on Netflix. It seemed interesting, and it's something I'd actually watch and enjoy, so I gave it a shot.
The movie I'm talking about is a German movie called BRICK.

The couple, Tim and Olivia, are having some relationship troubles. Two years before the setting of the movie, they lost their baby in a miscarriage. Olivia wanted to move on and start anew, but Tim seemed to be stuck in the past.

He usually diverts the conversation whenever Olivia brings it up. He drowns himself in work and ends up somehow neglecting Olivia.

The day after Tim refused to go to Paris with Olivia to start over, she finally gave up and ended their relationship. However, when she was about to go out, she couldn't leave. A black brick wall surrounded the entrance to their apartment.

They couldn't break the bricks, but they could break the inner walls, ceilings, and floors that connected them to their neighbors.
Will they find their way out? Watch and see! haha

I actually like the concept of this movie. It's the kind of movie that's set in a simple place, but a lot of things can happen. I actually like it.
It's like an escape room, but there are no clues prepared for you to solve to get out. Additionally, instead of special rooms, they are mostly standard apartment rooms, so there are not many things you can use.
Another thing that I like about the movie is the diverse characters. I like the psychological approach they used in introducing the characters. They each have their own issues. Some of their experiences are relatable to the viewers, so it's a good way to connect.
The setting and characters were good, but I think the scenes lack something. I can't quite put my finger on it, but it wasn't exciting enough? I mean... the concept is there, but I wanted more grit. It's as if some of the characters were pretty laid-back at times... I don't really know. hahah
As I've said, I also enjoy simple settings like this, especially if the scenes and characters make up for it. I may be biased because I like the director, Mike Flanagan, but simple movies like Hush and Gerald's Game were more impactful, despite the scenes taking place in the same space most of the time. haha
Anyway, this movie is interesting in its own way. I just hope they gave the background on why and how the bricks appeared differently. The Sci-Fi factor could have been improved.
Did I enjoy it? ---> Yeah... it was still an enjoyable watch, nonetheless.

Will I recommend it? ---> Maybe? If you're bored and want to watch something, then give it a try. But I won't really go my way to tell someone to watch it. hahaha
It wasn't bad, but it wasn't super good, either... You can judge it yourself. ^^
I'll end this post here. Thanks for reading and see you around! (^^,)/
