Study Group (a Webtoon)

It's been a while since I posted in the community. I haven't really watched anime recently. I do read manga/Webtoons every day... and recently, I'm almost done with God of High School... but I won't be talking about that now.
This time, I want to share about another Webtoon I read a couple of months ago, and it's called "Study Group".

NOTE: All photos are screenshots from the Study Group Webtoon.

Yoon Gamin, the main character, shares the same goal as many students: to get into a university. However, he's not really good at studying. No matter the effort he put into it, he just didn't improve as much as he wanted to.

Getting into a university is a goal he set for himself. His mom doesn't really force him to study, unlike most Asian moms. Haha

She believes that grades aren't everything, but she still supports him and provides him with his studies... and even helped him by introducing a tutor to help him when he was in middle school.

Despite that, his grades weren't enough for him to get into at least a regular high school. He ended up going to Yusung Technical High School, which is also known as the "school for future criminals".

🖤 While at this school, he's keeping a low profile because, despite being in such an environment, he still wants to fulfil his goal.
Then, his previous tutor ended up teaching at his school. At first, he told her to just quit, as the school is so dangerous for her, but she refused, as her goal was to change the school into something that actually serves its purpose.

Then, he saw her in a pinch... and his secret was finally revealed. He may not be good at studying, but he's a genius at fighting!
He saved his tutor that time and retracted his previous statement. He wanted her to stay and help him study... and the idea they came up with was to create his own study group. Will they be able to achieve their goals? Let's read to find out! :)

This is actually an entertaining read for me. It's refreshing to see someone who excels at fighting but aims to improve their studies. It's usually the other way around... a nerd who suddenly gains power against their bullies.

The first season of this Webtoon concluded at Episode 117, and its second season is currently ongoing, comprising 84 episodes on the Webtoon website and almost 100 episodes on the app.

What I like about this story is that it has many layers. It's not just about him, his tutor and his studies. It involves a lot of issues, including murder and other darker ones. In addition, the stories are connected not only to him and his generation of students... the happenings can be traced back to the past even involving their parents.
Well, this part is mainly on the second season already, and I'm still letting this marinate so I can binge-read in the future. The story is quite deep, with funny study scenes and incredible fight scenes.

There are also a lot of interesting characters, especially the members of his study group. Some are actually good at studying, others are your typical students, while others are also quite good at fighting due to their circumstances. I mean, they have to...

They may have their own goals and issues, but one thing is for sure: they have each other's backs!
I can't wait to read the rest of the story! Season one was epic, and season two is more intriguing and even darker than the first one.
So yeah, if you're interested, feel free to read it on the Webtoon website or download the app if you still haven't. :)
Thanks for reading, and see you around! (^^,)/
