I have always been fascinated by both the sunrise and sunset. They're a spectacle to see! The moment the sky changes color is always stunning and mystical to me.
In my area, it's easy to see the sunrise. We just have to walk for around 15 minutes to get to the shore, and we can enjoy the view, especially when it isn't cloudy.
However, looking at a clear view of the sunset is a challenge from where I live. I can see how the color of the sky changes in the direction of the sunset, but I can hardly see the sun.
So, in this artwork, I decided to paint the sunset in the mountains.
Recently, I wanted to do more artwork or do things I could share on my blogs, so I rearranged my work schedule. This week, I decided to wake up and start work early. This way, I'll be free at night, except on some occasions when I have a regular class schedule (mostly on Wednesday nights).
As for this artwork, I made it last Monday while my mom and I were rewatching an anime. hahah I just can't stop multitasking. XD
Anyway, let me show you the progress shots I took while creating this...
I used a 10 x 10 cm watercolor paper for this because this artwork will be included in my art wall. As for the paint, I decided to use acrylic paint this time around.
I did a multicolored background for this while considering the subject of my painting.
I first worked on the sky. I added some fluffy-looking clouds...
I recently got some foam pouncers, so I used one of them (the smallest one I have) for the sun. It's more convenient to use! :)
Then, covered part of it with more mountains. I could have added another mountain on the opposite side, but imagine this is at the edge of an island, and behind those mountains is the sea.
It's similar to my island. The central part is mountainous, so you'd get to see a beautiful sunset by the beach when you're on the opposite side.
I then added some green flower fields that are quite elevated as well. It helps depict the distance from the mountains on the other side.
Then, I did some finishing touches, especially on the color of the sky. I wanted it to appear brighter.
Lastly, I took out the masking tape around it and added my signature using a white gel pen.
It's a cute little addition to my art wall!
And as always, I made a GIF for this painting as well, so check it out below.
I'd love to see a beautiful sunset in the mountains like this one someday. For now, I'll just enjoy watching the sunrise from the nearby beach whenever I can. :)
How about you? Which sunrise or sunset was the most memorable for you?
I'll end this post here for now. Thanks for checking, and I'll see you in the next one! (^^,)/
