Why I Write Even When I Don’t Feel Like It

 To be honest, I didn’t feel like writing anything today. My mind felt blank, my body just wanted to rest, and I kept telling myself, “Maybe tomorrow.” Lol. But then I remembered the promise I made to myself, to be consistent with my writing. And that thought alone nudged me to open my docs app and just started putting these words together. Here’s the thing though; I’ve realized that the moment I skip a day, it becomes easier to skip the next. And before long, I start forgetting the words I once used so easily. My sentences become scattered and my flow messy. When that happens, I’m always frustrated and end up mentally stressed because it throws me into writer's block. Writing is like a muscle, when I use it daily, it sharpens. When I neglect it, it weakens.  That’s why showing up matters a lot to me. Not just for writing, but for every dream we’re chasing. You won’t always feel inspired, you won’t always feel ready, but if you keep waiting for the “perfect mood,” you may never get anything done. The real growth happens on the days you don’t feel like showing up but still do. So today’s post isn’t about any sort of perfection. It’s about presence. I showed up. I tried writing, even when I didn’t feel like it. And that’s the victory. I feel like a trophy’s been handed to me. We all have something in our lives that feels heavy. Could be work, study, exercise, prayer, whatever it is. But my encouragement is that you don’t wait for the feeling to magically go away because it won’t. Instead it presses you down even more. Try to show up. Because the more you show up, the stronger you get, and the easier it becomes to keep going.
