Hello Hive people it feels really good to be back here , school stress has been sending me 🥺, but it's for the better getting a degree is really important for me right now so I'm definitely getting it.....
So I needed to attend an event a few months back and I didn't have anything to wear, I already had a dress planned but it wasn't even sewn yet, yep! You heard right not sewn .
So I have a small skill set of dress making so I had to put it to good use.
First off I started by making sure that everything I needed was available so I went to the store close to my street that deals with Haberdashery, I got a few things I needed .
Like the thread and bias rope.
Then went home and began to cut the dress using my body measurement that I had taken.
It was a simple style so all I needed to do was get sewing.
So I jumped on my sewing machine and and started to sew, it was a lot of work mann.
I was way behind time as the event was already in motion.
After my first stitch I went on to iron the dress and then started to make the extra design which was a bit difficult as it needed more work and time I didn't have for that.
So I went on to getting it sorted out and the dress was ready.
The event was hosted by a friend of mine who's into entertainment , it's called the South South Media Week.
Also that particular day was hosted for People in music, so he had a collaboration with Spotify.
I got to learn about different things that could be done to prompt music better and enhance cultural values and creativity in the South side , Port Harcourt, when it comes to music making.
It was an insightful event as alot of connecting with people was done.
