Friendship Without Borders is something l really love a lot, you don't need passport to have an access to make a friends across the world. Friendship is a strong bond that hold unity, peace and harmony, it goes a long way when we are talking about friendship. I love to make Korean friend of my age, the vibes and the energy will be there.
Making a Korean friend of my age is what l have dreamt of since when l was childhood, because l remembered vividly when l watched City Hunters some years ago, I love the way the movie was shot, it was full of technology with young guys and ladies. The making was dope, very entertaining and interesting. Since then l have had in mind to make friends with Korean of my age, I love one thing about them which is their language, it sounded hilarious to me when they are communicating among themselves.
Another thing I would love to share to a Korean friend of my age is our food culture. As a Nigerian, I will be proudly to introduce Jollof rice, Egusi soup, Bush meat, Suya, puff-puff and maybe palm wine (if they can handle it) to my friend and in return, I would love to learn about Kimchi, Bibimbap, Tteokbokki, and all those Korean dishes I only see them on their TV dramas or show, l want to taste them and see how delicious they are compare to Nigeria food. Because sharing food is like sharing part of your soul, it builds closeness faster than grammar we speak.
Another thing again, l will like to share with my Korean friend is our Music (Nigeria music), Nigerians no dey joke with afrobeat, gospel, and highlife. I’d play Burna Boy or Davido for my Korean friend and then in exchange, I would ask my Korean friend to play BTS, IU, or some traditional Korean music. Music is a universal language even if you don't understand the lyrics, the beat will give you some vibes to dance though you don't understand what they are saying.
I want to learn about Korean respect culture. The way Koreans bow to greet, or how they use honorifics in language, it really amazes me a lot. Also we Nigerians also respect elders, kneeling, prostrating, or greeting in special ways depending on tribe and it would be fun to compare. Furthermore, my Korean friend and I would talk about dreams and struggles. What is it like growing up in Seoul compared to Lagos or Abeokuta? Asking if they do worry about school fees, jobs, or the future the same way we do here in Nigeria?
To wrap everything up, Friendship without borders means we can laugh, learn, and share without feeling limited by distance. Technology has made it easy via video calls, chats, and social media even if we are in different continents, the connection can still be strong. Because when cultures meet, the beauty multiplies. And that’s the kind of bond I’ll always cherish alots that is a friendship that knows no borders.
