Dorothy Black was Creamy and Delicious

### Hello Hivians and all you beer lovers. It's Saturday, which means it's #beersaturday, not that you need an excuse to drink a beer!  We were at our local shopping centre on the High Street a few days ago and were in Home Bargains looking for some bird food. I then gravitated to their drinks section which was not very inspiring, but then my eyes were drawn to this pack of 4 cans! ### Dorothy Black Dorothy Black Irish Stout Nitro Now a 4 pack of 440ml cost £4.99 ... Sometimes you can't get even 1 pint of beer in a pub for £5, so potentially 4 cans for a fiver could be a bloody bargain. Well you are in Home Bargains after all little Ed said, buy a pack, what have you got to lose?  Let's be fluffing honest, I was not expecting a Guinness, a Murphy's Stout or even a BrewDog BlackHeart. Actually I had no idea what to expect.  It frothed up pretty quick and I actually thought I was going to make the cardinal sin of Spillage!!  ### Crisis averted and the rest of the can poured  ### Creamy Tasty head  Cheese and wine is often the thought of pair for cheese. But let me tell you that Dorothy Black really does go well with a cream cracker and extra sharp or mature Scottish cheddar.  As I said I had no idea what this beer would be like. But I want say that yes I was pleasantly surprised.  Where is it from?   Dorothy Black is a specific brand of Irish Nitro Stout beer. It is produced by [Dundalk Bay Brewery and Distillery](https://dbbd.ie/) in Ireland.  It's a stout that is often compared to Guinness, but is known for having a slightly different flavour profile, with tasting notes that are described as more chocolatey and roasted. The "nitro" in its name means that the beer is infused with nitrogen gas, which gives it a very smooth and creamy texture and a cascading effect when poured. I have to say I enjoyed it, it is not bitter and of course I like that chocolatey taste. I do love my chocolate and coffees and I like the rich smooth texture with chocolate poking through. Some people think stouts can be too bitter, well there was no bitterness for me. I did not actually see the beer on their website, but I saw umpteen reviews of it. Perhaps a brand only to be sold in that chain in shops, who knows. I do know that if I see it again I will grab a four pack and keep in the fridge. After all, autumn is on its way, isn't that the season to drink stouts and dark beers?
