It’s been about a month and change since we stated our goal to open the first physical shop in Tokyo to accept HBD. The best we can do now is sell hats online and accept HBD and try to onboard friends and customers, but by the end of the year we hope to have a physical shop!
I know people at Hive aren’t accustomed to shopping with their HBD but one of the reasons we’ve decided to turn this account into a business one for Spot Spot Spot Spot (yarn) Shop is that I want to push the idea of a Hive marketplace.
Obviously we would love to benefit from it, but a thriving marketplace would be good for the entire ecosystem. The best way to keep Hive stable and on a continuous uptrend is to allow selling pressure to die out. If more of us became accustomed to buying and selling with HBD, less Hive would be on the market and the price would go into an upward trend much easier.
So we aren’t just encouraging you to buy out hats, start selling your goods and services. @hivelist has a daily threadcast where you can share goods or services you want to sell and more. They’ve also got a site to automate the sale of digital products and receive HDB.
And yes, if you like our hats, we’d be thrilled if you bought one.
We will start sharing a monthly or bi-weekly catalogue of our newest hats and featured hats. In the future you can get some exclusive sales here.
Almost all of our hats are $30-$40 (+shipping, small packet) If you are interested in a hat let me know in the comments or on our instagram and we can tell you the exact price.

Our last flea market was more of a social event but we sold two of our favorites and a few others.
We haven’t made much progress towards our goal of $25,000 USD because this month we’ve been busy with tax season and starting an online shop for Japanese customers. But from tomorrow we will be back to joining flea markets, and in 2 weeks there’s a really big one that we are looking forward to at a campsite!
