Looking at the flowers sometimes it's hard to know what the weed is. Thank goodness for CharGPT so I have some idea what's what.
Now of course it gets things wrong but at least it gives me a starting point to figure things out.
If you look at the image I took from the side of the road near my house do you have and idea what to pull and what not?
Well that was my job today.
The low lying purple flower? Clover. Can technically be eaten by it works as fertilizer for the soil, prevents erosion, feeds bees and generally awesome.
The big purple ones in the back? Fireweed. Native species and good for pollinators and the soil. Keep.
The big white clusters? Yarrow. Hardy and drought resistant. Great for bees and good for soil. Even has medical uses as an astringent.
The yellow flowers? Look like a dandelion gone bad. Hawkweed. Invasive but mostly harmless. I'll get to it some other time.
The tiny white flowers? Dogbane. Toxic to humans and animals if ingested. The sap can lead to skin irritation and it gets everywhere.
Technically it's a native plant.
But still one I don't want.
Today's steps? Weeding out the crap. Not really a great actifit report but that's what I did.
Side note... Here are a few other plants.
Fireweed
Creeping thyme
Western aster
Or of course I could be wrong. Still learning
