Black Lungs.jpg

The black lungs of an active smoker, instead of relieving stress or relaxing the body, each drag brings comfort, inhaling and exhaling calms the mind as an escape from something, eventually leading to addiction and dependence or reliance, justifying this activity. I am that person who is now typing while smoking, yes, while this makes me enjoy my activities even more, chatting, hanging out, working, creating, after eating, and even when in the toilet. In the end, I began to feel that my body was dependent and it was difficult to let go. I realise that smoking is dangerous, despite the benefits gained from the pleasure of smoking. Smoke is the same as inhaling something, let's say it's smoking cannabis, the effect is very pleasant. I always thought it was better than tobacco, but it's the same, it damages the body, especially the respiratory tract, the lungs, which lose their function due to blackening. I realised I couldn't run far because I was out of breath. But again and again I return to smoking because of the supportive environment. The culture of smoking in tobacco-producing communities in tropical countries is commonplace. People smoke while drinking coffee, relaxing after work, or taking a break and lighting up a cigarette. Yes, all that pleasure is illusory, but I realise that I am the target market for cigarette companies. Cigarette prices are getting higher, the packaging is designed to be frightening, with gruesome and gory images to scare smokers, but that doesn't deter smokers from continuing to smoke. Eventually, illegal cigarettes emerge among those who can't afford legal ones, and of course, they contain unexpected things, even in a single legal cigarette. I found wood chips, pieces of woven carpet, plastic, hair, and other strange things stuck to a cigarette. Imagine if those were inhaled by lungs that should be breathing fresh air, instead inhaling cigarette smoke mixed with those strange substances, and doing so for a very long time, until respiratory diseases begin to manifest. Regret is meaningless. Some people may succeed in quitting, but others return to smoking. I am still struggling to quit smoking by reducing my daily nicotine intake, hoping to quit completely. Some say to try electronic cigarettes, Ah, that's the same thing. It's still inhaling smoke into the lungs, just with fruity flavours that are intoxicating. Some people even become addicted to e-cigarettes. Hahaha, humans will find any way to make themselves comfortable and keep that joy going.

Okay, I created this collage entirely using Paint.net, taking images from other source and public domain site using a free font called Chomsky.

Here are the steps I took, which I turned into a GIF :
