First parkrun in a while, and it was a walk run, walk run, kinda parkrun. I haven’t been for a while due to either work and/or back/hip pain. And while I took it easy and kept my steps short to reduce the impacts, I was still in quite a bit of pain when I finished; enough that I went directly to the chemist before even joining the others for post parkrun coffee!
My shiny new fire prop arrived during the week, but I haven’t had a chance to play with it yet, so I decided to at least get a picture of it while it’s still sparkly and unblemished 😂
Since I was taking a pic of one prop, I figured I might as well do a group shot 😂🔥
In the evening we had rehearsals for the fire spectacles coming up over the Halloween period, where we arranged running order of singers, dancers& fire performers, and who will be doing what when. It’s all starting to take shape nicely. With exactly 2 weeks before the first performance of the full show, I’ll probably spend another 10-12 hours on solo practice going through my segments, as well as a further 6-8hours of group rehearsals with the other fire performers. In between drilling my techniques, I’ll also be drilling through materials as I continue to create more fire props to add to the wow factor of the opening and closing pieces of the show.
And that’s all on top of doing other gigs, teaching circus to teenagers in school.
This is the kind of busy I like, productive, creative and inspiring!
