Making More Cash From LEGOs, and a Sheriff Deadpool

As I was getting going today I have been dealing with all sorts of things around the house. There's always something that I need to get done, the joys of home ownership! On the list today was to get a few items listed on eBay. I find that if I list a few things every day then I tend to sell a few things every day. While the income may not be horribly high, I'll always take a few dollars over no dollars. And some days those items that sell can be for a few hundred dollars.

LEGOs were among some items to get listed today. That make it a natural day to throw together a LEGO post again since it's been a couple of weeks. Before I jump into the LEGOs I've been working on I like to call attention to some of the outrageously expensive LEGO mini-figures that exist out there. I'm sure most of you have seen the Deadpool movies, and LEGO wasn't shy about cashing in on the hype. Here they made a Sheriff Deadpool as a Comic-Con exclusive. This one is pretty cool looking!

This exclusive LEGO mini-figure was given out at Comic-Con in 2018, and as any LEGO from Comic-Con they are very rare and highly sought out by collectors. Over the last six months the average price to own one of these runs $1,384. For a tiny plastic figure that's a whole lot of money! Definitely outside of my investment fund as of late. But there are Deadpool fans that are desperate to get this one, so it may go up in value as the years move on...

Well now I'll dive into some of the stuff I've been working on lately.

Sometime back I started to work on a bin I had purchased filled mainly with LEGO sets aimed at girls. These were called the Friends collection. Unfortunately, the sets just don't carry as much collector demand as the Star Wars or Super Hero sets, it may be that younger girls just were never as exited about LEGOs as were little boys. LEGO made some interesting changes for these sets, the most notable are the mini-figures. The look more like people with faces, noses, and clothes than the old fashioned mini-figures. The sets also were more detailed and more like doll houses than LEGO sets. You'll see that here in this first set of pictures.

First off the figures are very different from the Deadpool style one I shared above. Now onto the build itself, like I mentioned it's almost more of a doll house feel to it.

It even has a puppy and a bunny rabbit if you look near the carrot. It also comes with a slide, a swing, a grill, and a bike with a wagon attached.

Inside you can see some of the details inside. There's a kitchen and a dining room along with cabinets. There's a bedroom upstairs and what looks to be a hot tub on the roof. Plus there is a winch to raise and lower a bucket in the front on the house. Like I said, more like a doll house than a LEGO.

It's pretty big build with over 700 pieces. It's complete which is a very big plus, but I'll likely only pull in $35 to $40 on the set. That number is fine by me because the lot it comes from has already more than paid for the investment. Anything else I earn from here on out is pure gravy!

Next up is a set I've already sold. It's went for just over $11, which isn't bad for a smaller set. It did however come with the original box even though it was absolutely trashed!

Above we have a fairy character which is pretty well detailed. Below you can see the entire set, complete with all 98 pieces and the box below. It actually sold pretty fast which was a surprise!

Last up I'll share a couple more mini-figures I'm listing for sale. This guy is Snappa from Ninjago. I know almost nothing about him other than his name, but he should bring in around $5.

Also from Ninjago I have these skeletons ready to sell as well. Off the top of my head I can't remember their names but I should pull in at least $6 a piece. Not too bad since the box they came in has already more than paid itself in sales. IMG_20250404_140713625.jpg

And this one I'm including because it's a very rare item. She came from a Christmas set that didn't sell well. However, just being rare doesn't make it valuable. There is next to no demand for this one, if I get $2.99 I will be lucky. Just remember, rare doesn't always mean valuable!

And when searching for LEGOs to purchase it's a good idea to look for complete builds or near complete with the instruction. The box is even a bigger bonus! Mini-figures are always a pretty good bet as are big franchise sets from Star Wars or Super Heroes. And don't forget to research current prices on your phone before you buy!

That will wrap things up for today's LEGO post. I hope you enjoyed seeing some of the goodies I've picked up at thrift stores and yard sales. Many of these I've had for months and only really started to dig in now. I have a pretty big back log of items to dig through. I guess that's not a bad problem, the opposite would be a much bigger one! Please feel free to leave any questions or comments below, and thank you so much for all of your support everyone, it's greatly appreciated! Have a great weekend!
