Today is a big day for me on my Hive journey! It's been four years since I first signed up on Hive. The adventure really started with Splinterlands, at the time I was pretty heavily into the play to earn revolution of the bull market of the time. I was even running an Axie Infinity scholar program and had a bunch of people in the Philippines playing with Axie's I owned and was making some pretty good money. So Splinterlands looked like a great opportunity.
The one thing I honestly did completely wrong is I focused on the game and ignored the blogging portion of Hive completely. I only started blogging at first to increase my Hive Power, because I was always short of Resource Credits to run my card rentals!
Right off the bat, I began to understand that it takes time to be successful blogging on Hive. I was pretty much a new onboard figuring out how to navigate the forest for myself. Fortunately, I was able to meet some great people who have helped me along the way. I've made some great friends here and I appreciate all of the friendship and kindness I have received along the path!
One of the things I'm most proud of is that all of my growth came organically. I didn't bring in much money from the outside to have a big stake, and in less than two years I already have over 11,000 HP. I could have more... But like all of us, I invested in projects that didn't do so well. Lessons learned to avoid future pitfalls!
Looking back I really wished I had jumped into writing sooner, just imagine how much more HP I could have today had I done so! Hopefully, I'll be able to continue to build my account over the next two years and be able to help newbies on their journey on Hive as well!
As for gaming, I don't play the play to earn games much anymore. I did get out of Axie soon enough that it wasn't a total loss. I still own nine Axie's if you want to buy one! Splinterlands I still play some, but not as much as I had in the past. And I have been playing Stake House Den as my latest game, but I'm doing it more for fun, I'm not expecting a profit from that one. Sadly, play to earn models just don't do quite as well as they used too...
I am a member of the silver gold stackers community, and I realized I don't actually own any silver that is birthday related. I looked around and there is quite a bit out there, although a bit expensive. I found this one, but no I didn't buy it!
It's only one half a Troy ounce of silver and priced at $36.95, and apparently you can pay extra to have it custom engraved. Silver is currently at $43.87 per Troy ounce, so maybe not all that bad a deal. Kind of a cool idea for a birthday gift for someone. Silver is charging towards $50 per Troy ounce, it may go higher if we all get dragged into World War 3...
