I love Saturday mornings. I always have ever since I was a child knowing it most certainly wasn't a school day! Nowadays I start them off with a nice cup of expresso and enjoying the serenity of my backyard. It's always fun to hear the birds chirping and watching them scour the ground looking for seeds and insects. It's a relaxing way to start off the day.
This morning I had a couple of yard sales that I had planned to visit. I picked them out strategically by the neighborhood they were located in, focusing on the areas I know have a lot of older couples. You can find some great treasures for a great deal every now and again at these places. Today I struck out unfortunately, there was some nice furniture at great prices, but that is the last thing I need more of right now. I'm trying to downsize, not the opposite!
Moving onto cryptocurrency... It's been a sad couple of weeks. Every time Bitcoin drops we see Hive doing the same. The good new is BTC is staying above $100K, but Hive just isn't bouncing back after each drop. Is that worrisome? I would be lying if I said no. But just the same, I will keep posting and participating here on Hive. I really enjoy the community of friends I've developed over the last couple of years! Hopefully there will be a rally in Hive again soon, but we may be in for $0.10 in the future the way things look right now. Hard to believe we were at $0.60 just earlier this year...
Rather than dwell on the negativity let's jump into the body of my weekly #saturdaysavers post . It's a community here on Hive where you choose a primary and secondary goal for the year to achieve. Usually goals on Hive, although some have goals in BTC or other assets. I've already smashed my original goals but I'm not done yet! Let's start off with my Hive Power.
Hive Power
My goal this year was to achieve 10K HP, turns out it was a little too easy. I set a new one to reach 13,000 HP, and I currently have 11,523 HP. That up 60 HP on the week, which is down from my regular results. I have been investing some Hive in other projects this week, but will be back focused on my HP next week. Doing the math I will need 134 Hive powered up weekly to make it, hopefully I can still make it even with the decreased earnings thanks to the low Hive prices.
HP 11,523 (88.6% complete) New Goal: 13,000 HP
## PIMP
My secondary goal this year was to reach 50,000 staked PIMP. I finished this up some time back. I'm continuing to stack up more as I earn it in posts and from LP's.
PIMP: 61,353 (122.7% complete) Goal: 50,000
PIMP is a project with a great community and is backed by physical assets in the form of silver bars. Additionally it's backed by BTC holding as well, ensuring that the token has value even if Hive were to fail!
DUO
Okay, I know I share this weekly but since I helped found the project with @bitcoinman and @bulliontools , I can't help myself. There are very rich rewards for investing and staking the token. Those who stake more than 200 can receive daily liquid Hive dividends and a possible curation on their quality posts. Curation can never be guaranteed of course if the post isn't original or done by AI. You can also offer tips of DUO on great posts once you stake more than 500 DUO, which is a nice perk.
My goal was to rack up 2,000 this year and I'm far past that and plan to continue to buy more!
Current DUO: 2,795 (140% complete) Goal: 2,000
You can pick up DUO on Hive Engine or Tribaldex.
Precious Metals
I like to kick this section off with a great deal if I can find one. This is an excellent deal on a very nice coin for any stacker or collection. If you don't have any silver, it's a great place to start as well
From APMEX.com
Produced by the Perth Mint for the island nation of Tuvalu, this coin series is nothing short of exceptional. This was the 2024 commemorating Calico Jack and Anne Bonny, a couple engaged in piracy in the Caribbean in 1720. It's a nice coin for only $56.67, only $4.49 over the price of silver. It's a great addition if you don't have it, and as I said, even a great way to start investing in silver!
Gold and silver have been some of the best performing investments this year thanks to shortages and people looking for a safe haven to keep their money. With the world as unstable as it is and a potential market crash expected in the near future, it's a great place to invest at least some money.
Just take a look at the charts year to date on just gold and silver:

Precious metals are essential investment as part of any portfolio. Even if you don't have a lot of free cash, whenever you have a few extra dollars pick up a silver coin. If you do it consistently over the next ten years you will be amazed and just how much you will manage to amass! But that first step is to just start. If you have questions about how to get your feet wet, just feel free to ask.
That will wrap up this week's Saturday Savers post. I do hope you enjoyed it and found it interesting. Hive Engine outages has continued to plague the second layers this week again, hopefully this week will be better Please feel free to ask any questions or leave any comments below. Thank you for all of your support, it really is deeply appreciated. Have a great weekend everyone!
