Hellooo! So me and my friends have this thing we do where we make up cooking challenges against each other.
It started out as a joke because one day we where bored and wanted cookies, but now it’s kind of become our thing. Sometimes we do savory food, but usually it ends up being cookies because, well, cookies are the best. And of course, you can’t have a challenge without a judge—so my friend’s little brother is always the one who decides who wins. He takes his role super seriously, like he’s on M asterChef Junior or something, which makes it even funnier.
Now, here’s where it gets kinda unfair. Every single time, my friend puts in way more effort than me. She makes these fancy, unique cookies, like tahini ones or something with unexpected flavors, and honestly, they always taste wayyy better than mine, if I was the judge, I’d pick hers in a second.
But for some reason…I always win hahaha. Not because mine are better but because I play it safe. I just stick to the classics: chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cookies, stuff like that. The kind of cookies you just know a kid is gonna like. And sure enough, her brother always goes, “Yep, these are the best,” and crowns me the winner. Meanwhile I’m sitting there like, “Bro, no way. Did you even taste hers??”
It’s turned into a running joke between us now. I show up with my plain, basic cookies, she shows up with her fancy creations that actually have flavor, and somehow I still walk away with the win. She’s lowkey the better baker, and I’ll admit it every time, but I think her brother’s just loyal to simple cookies over everything else.
One time we decided to prank him so I made these really fancy ones with tahini oats peanut butter and all that, it came out amazinggg, and then my friend made these super plain sugar cookies with chocolate sauce on the side to dip, without even thinking he said yep Amari wins again, while pointing at her cookies! We actually started laughing so much explaining that they are my friends not mine and he just stood there in shock and said “wow why don’t you make these more often”
